Why raise rotor before tightening? How high do i need to raise it?
@autodocuk6 ай бұрын
The mechanic raised the suspension to the working position; the distance between the center of the front axle and the wheel arch can be measured before starting work when the car is still on wheels.

Thanks for the excellent tutorial. What is that Red Stand/Bar you placed under on 4:58? and is it necessarily to do that?

Thank you for the feedback! We are glad that our tutorial was helpful for you. This stand is designed to weaken the front lower arm tension to mount it in the correct way. Best regards, Autodoc.

Basically they used it to take the tension off the arm so the bolt could be tightened correctly. You can use a floor jack to raise the suspension while the car is on jack stands.

Or even better, put the car on the ground and tighten it there, when you know the arm is in the correct position. you should use a torque wrench too, and tighten it at a correct torque value

Excellent Tutorial! I am thinking of just replacing the control arm bushing because my control arm is original and has roughly 125k miles. Can you recommend a control arm bushing removal tool for a 2006 530i, please? Thank you!

Did anyone try M3 or other arm to fit e60 for more camber?
@autodocukАй бұрын
We cannot tell for sure and we recommend consulting with your mechanic.

@@autodocuk oh good lord,... isn't the title of the tutorial "replace FRONT LOWER ARM"? , so how about the torque you used for the FRONT LOWER ARM? geez...
@Deviant3655 жыл бұрын
@@31acruz 165nm on the bushing end, 100nm + 90deg on the balljoint end. #if you're doing this on axle stands, do them up at tight as you can, you won't get a 1/2" torque wrench in there. The hub should be at ride hide when tightening those nuts/bolts.
