How To Change Front Suspension Arm And Ball Joint on VWPASSAT B6/7 AND TIGUAN

Hello everybody,in todays episode i will show you how to change front suspension arm / front control arm on VW PASSAT B6 (3C5) 2.0 Estate 2005-2010.
Suspension arm on AUDI Q3 (8UB, 8UG) (06.2011-...) / SEAT Alhambra II (710, 711) (06.2010-...) / VW CC (358) (11.2011-...) / VW Passat B7 Variant (365) (08.2010-12.2014) / VW Tiguan I (5N) (09.2007-...) cars should be replaced, as a rule, according to one and the same procedure.
However, there can be slight differences due to specific features of the vehicle design.

You have helped me understand the problem I’m having. I could not separate the control arm from the ball joint no matter what I tried. So I decided to begin unbolting the entire control arm but like you showed I cannot back the one bolt out because if the gear box. I’m not understanding how you’re able to lower the gear box and raise the sub frame. Can you explain with more detail? Is there another video? Thank you for your help.

Hy sir. To fix your problem you have to lower the front subframe by removing the. Bolts wich are holding it in place but don't remove them completely, just lower the bolts along with the subframe enough to have acces to the respective bolt with its difficult to remove. The gearbox and the engine stay in place, you don't need to lift or lower the gearbox or the engine. Just lower the front subframe and you'll create more space to remove the control arm bolt. Brother, you should torq everything when the arm is horizontal orelse the bushing will be under stresss all the time.

My man, didn't you saw I torqued all the bolts from the arms? Probably you didn't noticed

What is meant with the previous comment is that the bolts should be torqued with the wheel at ride height. Torquing the 18mm horizontal bolt with the arm hanging means that the bushing is constantly under stress when you put the car back on the wheels.

I can't get the ball joint off of the A arm. How to seperate them? I already get them out of the car.

You will need a special tool or if you have a hidraulic press that's the main tool for joints and hubs, you will need to press it out of the A arm.
