This is a joke....6 nm on 3:56.... it should be 20nm plus 90 degrees turn using a new bolt
@zaratrusta792 жыл бұрын
Are you sure about this? I bought the bushings at wolkswagen and the VW mechanics themselves don’t replace any of these bolts as long as the threads are good.

Is alignment necessary after changing the arms?
@zaratrusta792 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. But before make sure there are no other suspension/direction/transmission components needing replacements.

Quick question; why are you lifting the car on it’s sills? There are official jacking points so you don’t damage or bend the sills... This really annoys me as I’ve had my sills bent because of this from garage over the years. But great video and keep these coming on the mk4!!

There are spots on the sills that have been pinch welded and have a notch indicating jacking points. I've always used these on my golf with no problem but whoever owned it before me went to the side of it and have bent the sill in that area.

Hi, great video. my Golf Mk4 is Right-Hand drive Automatic. I have to replace the Left-Hand side Lower arm. My problem is trying to take out the bolt of the front bush, it stops against the pan of the gearbox. Please tell me how I get around this? Even better if you can do a video on this. Thanks.

Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately, in our practice, there has not yet been such a replacement, but we will certainly try to make it if this car gets to us for repair. Best Regards, Autodoc team.

You can do this two ways, either drop down the complete subframe at the Nearside of the car, just enough to remove the bolt, or unbolt the centre steady bar and lever the gearbox forward to remove bolt.

3:32 time in video show 80nm tighten but in pdf say Tighten it to 70 Nm torque.+90°. WTF???
@autodocuk8 ай бұрын
You are absolutely right, there was a mistake in the subtitles and the correct torque is 70 Nm.+90°
@adnansgarage3 жыл бұрын
3:57 6 Nm are you sure?

@@autodocuk thanks. Its good to accept the mistake
@zaratrusta792 жыл бұрын
@@adnansgarage how much torque would you recommend then? 6Nm seems indeed very little to the size of the bolt and compared to the others. If course it’s always good to use the right torque, but I’d say this is not a crucial component to torque to absolute spec though, I’m sure it has quite a great range of tolerance (given that you wouldn’t torque it so low, even by hand).

Um just gonna put this out there the bolts and nuts are one time use only should change them with new parts

Not the recommendation I was given at VW, but I will double check. Most of these bolts are even discontinued, and given their function they are made to last and to take a lot of abuse. I’d say the original bolts are even made of better metal than aftermarket ones (just like the rubber of the bushings). If you could point me to a good source for this info I’d really appreciate it.
