How you ever figured that out will forever be a mystery to me. Chrome is the WORST browser of all time. Not intuitive at all. And when you are used to the ease of Mac and Safari, well, if I wasn't already bald, Chrome would have had me ripping my hair out in handfuls. THANK YOU!!!

Here's a tip! you don't need to turn of the sync. let be on and if it's off, on it. Then, delete your chrome profile. Then, re login with your account. As you login, it will ask some question if it could sync and other things about bookmarks. Just click ok/got it for them. And that's it! your chrome profile pic will be the same as your google profile pic.
