HOW TO... Change HEADLIGHT BULBS on Fiat Ducato | Peugeot Boxer | Citroen Relay

We felt that the factory headlight bulbs weren't great on our Fiat Ducato in terms of amount of visibility they provide. Also, with our super bright LED Daytime Running Lights they looked really yellow! So we decided to replace them with OSRAM Night Breakers that are up to 150% brighter. We've used these before in our cars and have been impressed.
We thought we'd share how we went about changing the headlight bulb and the steps required. It's fairly easy but just be careful when you remove the headlamp unit and protect the bumper if you rest it on that while you change the bulbs!!!

Hi, going to order these before heading off into Europe end of month , how have you found them 2 years on? Also do you use beam deflectors in Europe , if so can you recommend any and positioning. Cheers thanks for informative video

Yeah really pleased with them although I think technology has moved on and you can get LED versions now. Haven’t used beam deflectors as try and avoid too much driving at night but never been an issue.

Looking at you working on the headlight unit it has an "aluminium plate" fitted underneath which from my research is a "Ballast Control Unit". My 2021 Ducato/ALKO KonTiki is listed as having them fitted as well BUT BCU's as far as I can gather are for Xenon lights not Halogen. LED Day running lights don't "require" BCU so I'm wondering why they are there? Presuming they are wired in they are £140 ish each (Best price - £195 from Fiat Dealer) but would seem to serve no function for Halogen bulbs. Thoughts anyone.

Watched your video a few times now. Got the make details of the led headlight bulbs but can find details on what bulbs you used for the side lights please could you let me know which ones you used. As we have the same van thanks

We only changed the dipped beam headlight bulb and used Osram Night Breaker Laser H7 bulbs.

Hi Andrew, they were actually a factory option so we didn’t install them. I’m sure you can buy after market although you might need to buy the entire headlamp unit. I’ve seen some people have separate ones down where the fog lights should be.
