How to change Liftmaster, chamberlain outside keypad code

This is the quick way to change the keypad code on your chamberlain Liftmaster, Sears garage door operator. This should work from present to back in the 90's as long as there is a * and # at the bottom.

When the door is open, you don't need to put in a code to close it, just hit enter. A change for this video would be to close the door and then show that the new code opens it.

You have to be able to see the light on the motor to get the flash code. If door is down you will not know that it changed

Older keypads need a code to close. The newer ones do not need the code your correct!!

So to change it you must first put in your current number ? that's what I missed I think The volum is very low so I missed it

Yes. If you don’t know it you can always access the learn button on the circuit board( look for the antenna hanging down) press the learn button then program a new number. Then press the enter button and look for a single flash on the motor light bulb

People need to understand how this works. This has *nothing* whatsoever to do with the door opening mechanism or its receiver, it is just reprogramming the keypad acceptance code. Entering the correct code tells the keypad transmitter to send the open/close signal. As long as you punch the right code into the keypad it transmits that signal to the opener. All you're doing here is just reprogramming that code on the keypad. It is not communicating with the opener while doing this in any way. It's not transmitting that four digit code to it, it _never_ does this at any time during programming or regular use! So it has absolutely no effect on any other remote transmitters you have. There are other videos which tell you to push the LEARN button on the opener unit to do this. These are incorrect. The keypad transmitter has already been 'learned' by the opener's receiver and changing the four digit code does not change what it transmits to the opener.

Old code # motor light will flash twice which will put in change mode then put in your new code then press enter button center bottom. Motor light will blink ones to indicate code changed. Wait 10 seconds and try new code then hit enter and it should work. Good luck. If you can’t get it text me and I will respond 3022703960. If you can take a picture of the keypad and take a picture of your motor on the ceiling backside where the antenna is hanging down. There should be a learn button. It should be Red green purple gray or yellow and send to my cell 3022703960 and I can help you reprogram

What if your ex dont tell you the code then are you able to reset it to a whole new code number to keep out intruder? Can you do a vid or tell steps how to reprogram it? I do not have the old code to reprogram my garage.
