Thanks. I have been holding off changing nozzles because for some reason I thought I'd have to remove the PTFE tube. Glad it's so straight forward.

Remember that it's as easy if you buy the 'Complete Hotend Assembly'. If you buy the hotend, thermister, fan etc separately, it takes more work.
@Soccermojo5 ай бұрын
Only like a few more minutes to assemble . I just bought the Hotend and nothing else decause it was cheaper (on Amazon)and I just used the same fan and thermister.

I made that mistake but it was pretty easy to install the thermister and fan is just 2 screws.

On Bambu lab software. You also need to go to your device and from left top Printer Part. Need to change the nozzle part and also do the calibrating.

Big difference. I recently bought CHT high flow nozzle upgrade and came to this video to see how to do that. However this isn't a nozzle swap it's a complete hotend replacement video.

So many people say screw it in tight, then heat up the nozzle to 250, let it sit and heatsoak, then tighten it again while it's hot. I've heard that multiple times, but never had to change a nozzle before. Just wondering if there's any merit to that.
@engineer3dprints8 ай бұрын
Thats not a bad idea. Wouldnt hurt but I doubt things would expand that much to make a difference
@zachhalliwell5539 ай бұрын
Pro-tip that I just discovered that wasn’t mentioned in this video but should be common sense. lol UNLOAD THE FILAMENT FIRST if you have any in there. I was so focused on doing everything in the video just right that I didn’t notice I still had filament loaded before I pulled out and the filament broke. I was able to get it out of the extruder but it’s still in the old nozzle. Thankfully I don’t need that nozzle anymore.
@connermcgarrah21719 ай бұрын
All that you would have to do would be to cut the filament at the top and then reinstall the nozzle, heat it up and extrude some filament like normal. I only know this bc I did the same 😝. No need to trash a perfectly good nozzle.
@zachhalliwell5539 ай бұрын
@@connermcgarrah2171 lol thanks that’s what I figured and what I was going to try if I ever want to use that nozzle again. Thankfully I just purchased two hardened steel ones so I shouldn’t need it anyway, but I’m still keeping it just in case.

I just changed out my clogged nozzle wit the replacement one ... but when I heated up the nozzle, it started to smoke. Scared the heck outta me and turned off the printer ... is this normal?

Depends how much smoke. It’s possible there is some residue from manufacturing burning off but if its anything more than that, no it’s not normal

If someone is taking apart a printer while it’s turned on, they probably shouldn’t own a printer.

@@engineer3dprints It's my first printer, and everybody makes mistake and try to learn that's the point. The video is a step by step tutorial on how to change this part. I shouldn't be owning a printer apparently, but I tried following the video and forgetting to turn off the printer. Now idk why but the fan don't want to work. Maybe that's not related to forgetting to turn off the printer or maybe it's the issue. But damn that was a close minded answer.

@@engineer3dprintssome printers may have components which are available for hot swap and you are still missing part of unloading filament which is also crucial. You can presume whatever you want but why doing tutorials which are obviously missing vital parts. Moreover Bambu Lab is positioning as plug and play and new users friendly. So if someone is making video tutorials and missing important parts of video tutorials, they probably shouldn’t make tutorials. No hate, much love:)

FANTASTIC! The link bambu sent me does not show how the hotend actually fits and does not show that the screws need to be pulled out of the hotend. I guess I should have watched the video a lot closer as the screws are missing when they pull the hotend out. My bad sorta. After much cussing I came back and searched and found your video. I was already subscribed and I definitely hit the like button. Might as well ad more to this. Got the hotend installed and now won't print with error code. Finally found out it was fan not plugged in good. Did a factory reset and then did a full calibration. Now it puts out filament but it messes up the preprint pass and drags that out to start printing. Puts down a nice first layer except for the blob that is created by dragging the preprint filament to the print area. Goes through a nice first layer except for the blob. Hits the blob and then it all goes to hell. It has done this twice now. I am thinking there needs to be some kind of Z-axis calibration like on my Prusa mini. I will have to search for such and if anyone has a link I would appreciate it. Thanks again.
