I really like the way that you can see the ground below the car when you look under the hood.

Good video. The listed oil capacity is 4.3 quarts of 5w20 oil. An oil filter pliers from Walmart is like 5 bucks. It helps me on many oil changes with different cars.

you ever have any trouble with the Fiesta (2011 SES) with a vibration felt inside the car when first cranked at a idle in P, D or N that goes away once you start driving and does not come back when you stop at a light but returns after being parked all day or night?

I used a fram filter with the grip material to do my oil change. I read a certain socket (a250 i believe) is needed to remove it? Any issue to your knowledge on removing those fram filters?
@matt-diy Жыл бұрын
No shouldn’t be an issue, if it is too tight by hand just get a pair of channel locks to get it off.

This was probably the easiest guide that I've ever watched! Thank you very much! This may sound stupid to ask, but you put your finger in the old oil to rub/lube it around the filter, right? You don't use new oil?
@codeh-duh2 жыл бұрын
@@quazzymodo6294 Oh!! Alright, thank you!! I didn't know if it mattered which oil was used for the rubber seal! Thank you so much! And you just dip your finger in (I'll be using gloves of course Lol) and rub it around the whole seal? You don't need a whole bunch right? Sorry to bother you again, but when tightening the drain plug (and oil filter I guess too) do you just go until snug/bit more than snug? I always tighten everything extra good for fear of stuff falling off or becoming loose with any project I do myself, car stuff included, haha. But I've heard, and he mentioned it a bit in the video, that you don't want to do them too much when messing with the drain plug especially. I guess it's because it can strip or that it can become crazy hard to get back off the next time and could ruin stuff? Like, I assume it's because if you tighten it so much+heat under there from driving it just gets even more tight and almost locks it in place so it's impossible to get back off! Am i on the right track? And that's a big no-no?
@matt-diy Жыл бұрын
Old oil is fine!! Also just snug the plug it does not need to be extra tight that is what your seal is for!!!

Any suggestions for an oil leak coming from that general area. It was leaking before an oil change and it stopped for a while and now its leaking again. Could it be due from a bad oil plug that losens over time?
@matt-diy9 ай бұрын
Hmm, are you sure it’s not just residual from past oil changes? It would be rare for the plug to loosen but you could try replacing it.

"hope they didn't drive it home last time." This comment resonates with me so hard right now. I stripped the oil plug trying to get it off so now I need to figure out how to try to remove and replace the plug. Never taking it to the oil change place again. They drove home the oil filter too. Assholes. 😅
@matt-diy Жыл бұрын
Yep not cool at all. You could try some sockets for stripped bolts or a 6 point socket that you hit on with a hammer. Below is a link for the special sockets. amzn.to/3Zzus7p

would you recommend a new drain plug and copper washer when doing the oil change?
@matt-diy2 жыл бұрын
Only if damaged otherwise reuse is perfectly fine!!
@LA_Commander Жыл бұрын
The Fiesta drain plug doesn't take a copper crush washer. There is a rubber O-ring that goes there. It does not need to be changed unless it looks worn or frayed. You can get a box of like a dozen of them for 2 bucks from Dorman.

how much oil exactly is needed for a 4cl 2016 SE?

Probably same as this but I’d double check your manual.

4.3 quarts is the listed amount for the 1.6L engine. However, it's always good to check the dipstick after the oil change just to be sure you have it right.
