Thanks for uploading. I notice the filter is tightened with a socket. The Haynes manual says to only tighten it by hand.

Woah! First, wipe all the oil off sump after draining. That filter had already been off and half emptied. No oil on new filter O ring before fitting it AND did it up WAY too tight! No funnel when filling?

You don't actually see where the filter is going... On MY 2.5TDi ACV I eventually got reasonable acces after removing the wheel and shock absorber. I would recommend removing the axle too for actual work. Still don't know how much you'll be able to see, but it will be better than this.
