I believe the electrical box drops with 2 screws allowing better access to the duct. Using a vacuum is a must also.

remove that harness, just pull up and it comes out and makes the job so much easier, you also dont have to remove the entire glovebox

Never mind. Just done it and it's actually easier. Just remove cover under steering wheel and it's just the same but no need to remove glove box.

Yes, I do.... I just finished the whole process. It was a bit hard but at leats I'm proud that i did it myself.

not really a masterpiece of serviceability is it? takes about 3 minutes and no tools on my truck, 30-45 minutes on the E36 including glovebox sag repair

you should not brake the filter in 5 places to fit it in just remove da wire box or whatever is called

That's true it would be on the driver's side for RHD located in front of the centre console. For non air con cars that is a different story however as air filter may not be there (depends on your model). You need to take out the windscreen wipers, windshield cowl and the air filter housing (containing circular air filter) is located underneath the windshield cowl. A painful job as well as in order to take off the cowl not only there are grommets to put back in to re-install, you got to ensure your bonnet hydraulic is put back in place as well.

@@Willsoffe46 was actually a lot easier than id imagined in the end, as in this video the new filter came with the breakable sections which made it relatively easy to manipulate around the clutch pedal assembly, so pretty much the same process in the end.

Anyone doing this in the UK you need to remove the panel on the driver side and not the glove box!
