So much looks childs play when you can have your car lifted to such height.

Hi since new pads and discs my handbrake is weak is there a procedure to adjust it or shall i let them bed in ?
@autodocuk5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback! Most likely you need to lift the cable of the handbrake, probably it was slightly weakened while dismantling and for this reason it does not work effectively .Best regards, Autodoc.

what was you doing to the pad at the piston?
@sukhmaidickoff6 жыл бұрын
They are not showing all steps here, but of course you need to press it back - preferrably with a piston tool :-)
@autodocuk5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for the feedback!The piston of the caliper was squeezed out with the help of a special tool, in order to be easier mounted on the car. If you do it in the same way, then you should always open the brake fluid tank. Best regards, Autodoc.
@iaincochran87023 жыл бұрын
@@autodocuk should open the bleed screw and bleed to a jar as you put the piston back in to avoid: - flipping the master cylinder seals -pushing corrosion debris back up the pipes into abs pump - push it in straight! Ps when winding piston back in, does the piston rotate? Can't see on film what the tool is doing exactly.

Is the socket No.15 or E18 for the caliper holder? Looks like E18. Thanks!
@CycloneCyd5 жыл бұрын
E20 actually. And the slid epins need a 7mm hex!!! I've done a tutorial on this too!

@@CycloneCyd E20 is the front brake torx buster. E17 or E16 dependant on rust is the rear

Oh Dear 🤔 1. pumping old fluid backwards up the brake circuit - should have opened the bleed nipple ❌ 2. those caliper carrier screws are E20, NOT 15mm hex ❌ 3. the caliper slide pins need a 7mm hex not 6mm ❌ 4. putting the OLD pads back with NEW discs, school boy error ❌❌ 5. fitting new discs without cleaning off the oily anti corrosion coating with brake cleaner 🚩 6. fitting new discs to the hubs without cleaning the hub face first 🚩 👉 D-, fail. Could [should] do better 🎓👈

@@moukatandchipmunk4847 thank you Mou. #5 in particular is DANGEROUS. I cover these steps in my video. I've shared this video with the Motor Maintenance department at my local college where they now use it to test the students to see if they can pick up the errors!!

+MadCowGoMoo - Yeah I agree. The technical side is not so complicated. But those bolts can be a nightmare to get loose. The big ones in the front are tightened with 230 NM and if the previous owner used the red, strong, Loctite at the last repair, then you really need to put some effort into this repair job :-)
