Just did mine @ golf Mk6 GTi 2011 2.0 petrol. Yes the XZN socket is # bit 14 @ 14mm and not 12mm. Had to order it twice.....took 2 hours per side probably because I changed the suspension link as well. Satisfying fix. Couldn't have done it without this video. Good job mate

wish i had read the comments before starting. Caliper bracket is heldon with an XZN 14mm. Also worth loosening the little torx bolt holding the disk on while the hand brake can be applied (before removing pads etc)

Yes can be done if you just move the pads carrier. Thats the part that is on the two sliding rods that centre the pads on the disc.

Go for it. It works fine if you just remove the pads carriage from the carrier.@@grand_master_glass

Necro thread, but these particular rotors are 12mm thick new, minimum is 10mm. When you feel a lip at the edge of the rotor, get them checked.

🤔If you do remove the carrier bracket and not fitting new bolts when installing then its advisable to use a thread lock liquid ( Most of the important bolts on VWs are the use once type) Also it might be helpfull if you show how to reset the self winding pistons & handbrake back on to the pads after installing new..Anyone just driving off will more than likely end with 💩in their 👖when 1st hitting the brake peddle
