phpr p All that's needed it the 17mm socket,jack and pry bar or a long flat head screw driver...it's so easy to do even if you never done this before.These Yaris can be done at home with afew tools and save you so much on garage fees as i have done in 9 yrs of owning my Yaris.Front springs are more difficult and time consuming but all suspensions is sort of difficult for small cars as the mount is further back.

@@tardeliesmagic ,.....that said, and for those viewing this.....at the point when the rear shock/damper is unbolted, and you use the pry bar to more fully lower the rear suspension to get the old spring out....BE CAREFUL not to over extend the attached rubber brake line or any other ( ABS sensor) lines.

@@TheWilferch What if I put 50 cable ties to keep the spring compressed slightly before I take it out?
@TheWilferch4 жыл бұрын
@@ax4178 ...I can't comment on that as that would give you suggested actions that can go wrong. There are metallic clamp-style spring compressors that maybe can be used at 180 degree or 120 degree intervals around the circle of the spring.....I personally would feel much safer that way. Like I said, we don't know the amount of compression ( 1/2" .... more ?), and we don't know the spring rate ( lbs/in spring strength rating).....together that would define the stored-energy you would be facing. Therefore, I can't give any reasonable sugestion over the internet. I won't do that. You need local advice seeing what's in front of them. Cheers.

That's easier than I thought. I'm putting coilovers on and I. Used to full body coilovers. Thanks

Do the rear springs attach to anything at the top?
@autodocuk3 жыл бұрын
There are no mounts for springs. The main thing is that it fits correctly into the grooves of the spring plate. AUTODOC

Thank you for your feedback! We are happy that you our video overview. Everything depends on springs wearing. Unfortunately, we don't know your springs wear rate and can't recommend anything unambiguously. Best regards, Autodoc.

@@autodocuk Just replaced my rear coils and it was abit difficult as i didn't have enough leverage to lower the arm because i had a rubbish car jack that only went up enough to remove the tyres lol It is 40 yrs old thou and i didn't have a long pry bar so used a long screw driver..I did use a coil spring clamp too.Before i did the job my drivers side height was 1/4" lower than the n/s (UK) I'll check the final height later today as it slipped my mind to re check it.Important thing it to get the proper tools (except the air gun really) and it's be quicker an easier.Thank you again for the videos.

@marcbruton8363 ай бұрын
@rayanclarke6891 you don't need a ramp for this at all. Axle stands or even a trolley jack will do
