these are wrong torque numbers! BMW repair manual states: arm to subframe is 100Nm (tighten in normal load position/wheels on ground) and arm to wheel carrier is 175Nm! not 72Nm! also, you DO NOT need to remove the brake caliper!

Exactly. The torque numbers in the video say NM but they're the (lower!) ft-lb values.

Why is the hub jacked up after loosely fitting the new control arm, before tightening?
@thomasstiglich3484
@thomasstiglich3484 9 ай бұрын
If the hub is not jacked up to ride height before tightening the bushing, the bushing would be subject to a twisting torque after the car is lowered.

It is for easier access when replacing the lever.

It wasn't shown that the control arms are adjustable (at the inner end by a concentric bolt arrangement) and a 4-wheel alignment is required after fitting.

I think you’re talking about the guide rod, this one doesn’t have the eccentric bolt / hole as mentioned

Can you also provide NM torque for the other rear arm?
@autodocuk
@autodocuk 3 жыл бұрын
For a given lever on the opposite side, the torque is the same at 80 nm.
