How to Change Serpentine Belt - Honda 3.5 VTEC Engine (Odyssey 2007)

This video will show how to change the serpentine belt in Honda 3.5 liter VTEC engine. The procedure is similar or Honda and Acura that uses the same engine. The vehicle used in this video is a Honda Odyssey 2007 EX.
Changing the is a simple DIY project. Once you figure out where the tensioner is for your vehicle, it will take less than a minute to remove the belt and maybe another 5 to 10 minutes to install a new one depending on accessibility. Most manual calls for accessing the tensioner from under but it can also be accessed from the top.
The only tool you will need is a belt removal tool or a breaker bar or as shown in this video, I only use a regular wrench plus I used a long pipe as a leverage.

Thank you! Just subbed. I replaced the alternator in my 08 Odyssey. It was a pain getting it out and the new one in but I got it. When I first took the belt off I thought…. “THIS is going to be fun putting back on” I kept struggling with it and watching videos but yours is the best. I had my wife help keep tension on it while I routed it and boom, done. The way you described it, and putting it onto the top pulley last worked great. I used a 6 point 19mm 3/8” drive socket, breaker bar and pipe. I was afraid of stripping the tensioner nut so I didn’t use a 12 point socket. Also, slow steady pressure on the tensioner. It’s hydraulic (on the Odyssey) so don’t force it all at once. Just keep easing it back and give it a little time to relax.

You are correct. The engine compartment is so crowded that it is hard to see inside once you put your hand there. You will need to have the diagram so you can visualize how you will run the belt. Thanks for watching.

Not sure of the length but if you get the "Continental" brand the number is 4060840 (6PK2135).
