A VARIANT ON THIS THAT MAKES IT EASIER. Ok - This was brilliant. Thank you. 1 catch. That inner snap ring. I got it out, but I could not get it back on. I spent hours and hours and I was so frustrated I was literally losing my mind. So... I simply unbolted the 4 bolts on the compressor (didn't have to remove anything else - I never had to remove the freon lines!), and turned the compressor about 30-45 degrees so I could face the snap ring replacement head-on without being hampered by the frame. It still wasn't a walk in the park, but I got it on waaaay easier. Do this and save yourself from an anger induced stroke!

You've inspired me to attempt this myself. Thank you! I was able to get some long-pronged snap pliers from Amazon. Hoping it makes the job easier.

Can you share what is the torque spec for the 10mm clutch screw?
@diymanual4 ай бұрын
Hi! I don't remember seeing an actual torque number for the 10mm screw. Anyway the standard torque for a 10mm clutch screw is 10-12Nm or 9 ft. lbs. So, you don't really want to put a lot of torque on it. I was able to remove it easily so when I installed it back, I just turn it by hand till it stops then I just add another 1/4 turn to it.

@diymanual9 ай бұрын
This is what I used. But it's still a little short because one of the ring is deep amzn.to/3VY4R8x I think this is a good plier for the deep one. amzn.to/4cTC4YR
