I have a 1998 Honda accord V6 automatic that have been driven twice in a year and have the fluids changed last May. I decided to take a drive yesterday and 10 miles into my trip the car went into neutral or something on it's own and now won't shift into any gears. we had to toll it back. This is my third transmission. But this time the results are different because when it previous went bad at least it gave me some warning or check engine light.

he already removed or moved some high pressure lines and a bracket covering the thing. And Removed the fan blade assembly. Did not show either. Also looks like he already disconnected and reconnected the electrical to make it easy. misleading all the way around. Too good to be true.

Explain what the problem was prior to changing this shift solenoid......
@vinnysaka8 жыл бұрын
in the beginning u took off the upper solenoid.. then at 2:06 when u compared the parts in the backroud u can see the one u showed in the beginning is still on and now u removing the bottom one... so my question is. which one is the shift control solenoid valve, the upper or lower one?.
@MPoe-cp5ew7 жыл бұрын
The lower is the shift control solenoid. I noticed that too. This video is inaccurate. He takes the top one off then if you noticed, when he compared the parts the top one was back on and the bottom one was off and what he was showing...

Here’s a question for someone There are two solenoids almost identical to one another. The one he replaced and one right above it. What is the one right above it? What does it do? What’s it called? What’s it actuate? Thanks

Can a faulty solenoid cause a hard shift, or does it usually just cause a no shift condition? I have a friend who has a 98 Honda Accord with a V6, and there is a slight delay when it shifts into 2nd and into 3rd, even if it is shifted manually, and it causes it to shift hard. Also, as far as I know, he's never changed his fluid. I thought I would find a lot more information on youtube, since these are such popular cars, but I haven't had much luck and any advice you can give me would be appreciated.
