Awesome video thank you! Just did this migration on my other channel and wanted to let you know I did not experience any loss of my original comments! I think KZbin changed this policy because I followed your video step by step, and when it asks me to confirm replacing my Brand account with my original account, it no longer says "Your comments cannot be moved" in that list of "Some content cannot be transferred" Just thought you would like to know that!

To anyone who is scared of trying it, I recently did this whole thing myself and I was scared of loosing my whole yt channel but when I followed each step I didn’t loose anything, there isn’t a way to lose your channel unless u completely delete it(I talked to a supervisor in yt-) But in case anyone was worried i tried it and it’s all good!!! I got to create my brand account but when I go to Add or Remove manager(s) the Users section has nothing in it just a link on how to manage access (which is useless). Any idea what's going on? Do I have to wait seven days to be able to see "Manage Permissions"? 1:19 shows the link I can't see.

This does work but it doesn't work with a normal personal account you have to have a brand account(YT channel). You can transfer a personal account over to a brand acc then transfer that channel to another owner. You don't lose subscribers or subscriptions to other channels, videos, etc. But you can't transfer ownership right away you do have to wait 7 days and then can transfer one brand acc/channel to another owner. This dude is correct with everything he said, followed this video it step by step and it worked successfully. Just take your time and don't rush or anticipate what that will be said, watch the video at least 2 times before you actually attempt if your not comfortable. Even with his tutorial you'll still have to wait a week so patience is key. If you want to do this do it ASAP, it apparently used to be easier to do in the past. But they've added extra steps like waiting longer to add more than one owner... Who knows what they'll add or change in a year or two to make it even more difficult. Thankful for this tutorial i also recommend to not create a Google account with a Gmail alias aka your email user name because you can't change it. If you're thinking of creating a channel and may want to change the alias later. Do Not, just don't use a Gmail alias use another email with the whole email like [e-mail] as your email/sign in. Don't be tricked into making one with Google lol. If you do change it make sure it's a non Gmail email. You'll still get all your information to that email. Trust me on that it's such a hassle creating emails these days is 2FA or transferring channels. Just saying you'll thank yourself later! Good luck!

Hey Karl. Thanks for this tutorial. I made the massive mistake of creating a channel on my personal account. So if I was to create a ‘Brand Account’, am I right in thinking I’d loose ALL my views on the videos I’d have uploaded and ALL subscribers. Basically starting me from zero once again? What are the benefits of a Brand Channel? Is it worth the change? I ask as I have been monetised once before on my current channel and with 3.6k subscribers and a relaunch coming in the New Year, I need to make a decision if this is the right thing to do or risk taking longer to earn money via add revenue once again. Hi, im a pretty standard sized creator, I’ve always been using a different email for my channel cuz ive abandoned an old one that was using my main email but want to transfer my main email to this channel but never knew how since then.. First of all it says that it will not “move the comments” as in ALL of the comments that were made on all across my youtube channel? And then it says it will delete the “gift settings” as in my OWN channel membership will be deleted just like that?? Is there really no other options???

I followed through with your process and switched my channel ownership to the google email address I wanted to use. Everything looked good. I then removed the old Google Email from a owner role - I actually removed the owner completely. But, my profile information for my brand account is still tied to the old Google Email Address information and it confuses people. How can I change that. Wished I would attach a picture to make it clear. If I am on the Brand Account Details Page and click on View Account Profile the email listed is the old owneer which I am trying to transition away from and eventually cancel that Google Account completely because it causes confusion.

The only reason why I wanted to move my channel to a branded one was cuz I recently got scammed on Google chat. I blocked and reported the person. But they had still messaged me under new accounts. But I don't want any contact with this person. But Google doesn't let you change your email address you have to create a whole new account which I don't understand why. So then I found out about moving personal channel to branded channel to change my account. But now idk because I worked hard to get my KZbin channel they way it is and don't wanna lose it. I just don't think I'm ready to risk it all up The scammer hasn't messaged me anymore but I feel they still can as long as they know my email which is what I'm afraid of

Another reason to have the brand account is if you have a team that manage your channel so you can give them access to the channel. Losing the comments is a choice you need to make

check the top right that you are still in the correct youtube account sometimes google switches these accounts when you reload the page, if this doesn't work let me know
