Thank you!. Just finished the install of new Puig smoked racing screen. Looks mint! Hardest part was getting the the rubber grommets back in! Took roughly 1 hour for full install. Thanks once again...

Like so many here I'd like to thank you for posting these GSX650F vids . Just seeing it done makes it a much less daunting task . Cheers !

Thanks for the video ! I almost managed to remove it without any incidents . Except on the very last step . One of the rubber grommets was stuck to the bottom of the old windshield . So , when I removed it it separated from the chassis , and then fell off down the front when I pulled the windshield out . I managed to touch it with one finger , but there's no way I'm going to be able to recover it without dismantling the whole front section of the bike , which looks like a nightmare . So , I'll just source a couple of new ones and change them both . So , be careful all when doing that last step . Just to add . The part is a WELLNUT 10-S" . They looks quite easy to source . The other ones are WELLNUT Q-1032s on mine , so I might just replace all 4 of them . To be honest they should be replaced anyway I think as they can only really be used once . By the looks of things there's a slight difference in the length between the S and 1032 . One's 14.1mm and the other 16.9mm . I think I can get 10 x M5 14mm ones locally on Ebay for about €5 , so hopefully I can use them in all 4 holes .

Thanks so much for doing this video mate - really helped and gave me the confidence to tackle the job. I found it's not really that tricky or difficult - just take your time and make a good note of where all the bolts go (drawing a diagram is helpful). Lovely new MRA Vario touring screen fitted in an hour or so on my GSX1250FA - job's a good un! :)

No problem mate, glad it helped. Yeah this one wasn't too bad in the end. A few awkward bits but nothing major. Diagram is a good idea, I managed to download the full Suzuki maintenance manual which has everything (inc pictures).

Hi, did you do your GSF 650 SA? Was it similar process for the one in this vid - and any problems? Got mine to do after a mishap in the garage, doh! Thanks.

Absolute pain in the ass to do! When I removed my stock screen and put on a tinted touring screen, I didn't put many of the rubber grommets back in. My bike has done 60k and I'll likely be the final owner so I really couldn't be bothered :P
@CJMPH8 жыл бұрын
Yeah I know what you mean :) I had 2 screw nuts that were a pain to get back in place behind the plastic as well

Nice guide. Still a pain in the *** to do though. The rubber grommets with a threaded metal sleeve inside for the bolts that hold the screen and other plastic sections together, are an absolute pain to get positioned correctly. I am seriously considering using plastic plugs like those found in other places on the bike, instead of these grommets. Still, thank you for the guide :-)

Now i know why people just use the clamp on deflectors at the top of the original screen , what a pain in the arse , fantastic vid , but the aftermarket screen makers wont like it as its just convinced me, and probably lots of others not to bother and just get an add on :)
