I have a 2010 street bob. Is 31.5 the correct length for my bike?
@garage42887 ай бұрын
I did some fast research and find out that 30 3/4 inch is right cable length (for standard handlebars) HD part nro is: 56356-96.

One constructive critique for next time is to mark the original position of your switch housing and throttle grip with tape. Nice job 👍🏽 nonetheless 👏🏽👏🏽

yeah, getting the wires back on the throttle grip can be a pain in the rear, that's for sure. Would have liked to have seen you adjusting the two cables after installation, too! Otherwise, nice video.

I feel like an ass... I did it backwards! It's way more easier to assemble those cables FIRST on the throttle grip.

Hi my 05 xl883 has a spring on the idle cable. Does it go between cable holder and cable or between cable holder and carb?
@territoryfilms2 жыл бұрын
I’d say it goes between cable and cable holder… but you should ask someone who has better information about that than me. Ride safe!
@patricia26452 жыл бұрын
@@territoryfilms thanks! Im pretty sure you are right. They sent me one too short anyway. Guess it wasn't in the cards for a Memorial day poker run. Party at my house! Love the music...Stevie Ray Vaughn? George Thorogood?

So was your throttle not snapping back because your cable was bad? Im having the same issue i pull it wide open and it stays wide open no snapback.

I had the same problem with my '86 FXRD. Come to find out that my idle cable was broken.
@bobsmith41214 жыл бұрын
So the throttle cables are not retained by anything in the switch/throttle housing?
@garage42884 жыл бұрын
Only thing keeping them at place are those guide sleeves that snaps-on to bottom of housing. Cables go thru them.
@bobpx Жыл бұрын
yes there is a c-clip on each cable end going in to the housing. that is what you're pulling and pushing against. nobody says anything about this clip like it is some big harley insider secret.

Hey Thanks man, dam looks fiddly and f---en pain in the ass. Mine snapped when I opened it up. I think it's the throttle one, the outer cable. So only one cable is attached, the idle I reakon. At least I no how to go about bit now. Subed cheers from Australia.

You're not working on something if you're not having some four letter words fly out of your mouth.. or atleast that's how I was taught

Easy to pull out my ass! Those little retainer clips in the housing are a pain.. Update: lube and a good yank

Good video that would be better without the annoying music and closed caption read along.
