Very informative video, but two point's to comment on: 1. After unscrewing the vertical bolt from the track rod end, you should have inserted a slightly longer bolt, with two nut's screwed back as far as the head of the bolt. screw this bolt hand tight into the track rod end, then screw the 2 nut's on this bolt down as far as they can go on the bolt thread, and lock them together. Then unscrew the complete bolt and nuts, and keep until re-assembly. The reason for this is that A6 trackrod ends are slotted, and they have to replaced in the exact same position they came off in, when fitting the new TRE. This will ensure that the TRE is at the correct height, relative to the adjusting slot. Other wise the steering will not be right, and it is a specialist job, with special tools to re-set it correctly. 2. Before unscrewing the track rod, it's highly advisable to count the exposed threads, and place the lock nut on the new end in the exact same position. This will make the tracking much easier

Never hit the end of a bolt with a metal headed hammer; thread damage can occur which will make getting the nut back on difficult if not impossible. Use a plastic or rubber headed hammer or hit the bolt with the nut on. Before unscrewing the track rod end, count the threads or turns needed. If you do it like the video above your steering alignment will be out.

I think you are supposed to replace all the bolts so I don't think it really matters if you do replace the bolts... (most people probably don't...)

These come with new hardware as that bolt is a torque to yield bolt which means reusing it is asking for death or serious injury
