To avoid overfill, I thought you have to remove the jack to level the car, then open the other drain plug to allow excess oil to drain out.

Just measure the amount that comes out and pore that amount back in with the new fluid.

There's a safety issue using only a jack without any means of supporting the weight of the like a jack stand. Obviously, you've never seen a hydraulic jack fail! Second, properly install the filter before spraying in type of cleaner. Otherwise, liked the video.

Thank you for the video. I was looking for info on this I’ve done my fluid change but I spoke with Honda directly they said the filter never had to be changed out. Wondering if I should change it or take their word for it. My car has 15,000 miles over the fluid change I did . It’s sitting at a little under 75,000 for a 2015 model
@wefixit59062 жыл бұрын
It depends on you. If you change transmission fluid more often, you don't have to worry about the transmission filter because I've changed the filter at170k and I changed transmission fluid every 30k or 40k depending on if I was busy or not.

I changed them on my buddya 2019 Civic. Gonna do his sisters 2019 Accord sport this week. Those are good to change because they avoid the coolant to mix with the oil 😅. Just 20$ ish more. Great cars. I don't enjoy the Honda scene too much these days. But they're still good reliable cars. I'm more of a 90's or before type of dude.

What is the difference in putting the fluid in the ATF location and the Transmission opening.
@FastEddy52 жыл бұрын
One, you don't jack up the vehicle on one side. It must be on a level surface. Two, the accurate way to ensure that you don't over fill is to use the check bolt. When you get to the 4th quart you keep an eye on it. When you see fluid, stop. You can only drain 3.7 qts. Any given time. Third, that filter for the transmission cooler is not considered a serviceable part and therefore is not necessary to change. Maybe if the vehicle has 200+ thousand miles you may consider it. The problem with fooling with it is getting the mating surface torqued evenly. Fifth, you don't provide the torque specs for the drain bolt or check bolt. They are 34ft pounds. The video is just enough to show where the drain bolt is. You should let people know about all the details if you are going to do it. I just enjoy watching people on here, but you should always do your best to give as much information as you can. The devil is in the details. Thanks for all the effort making the video for people.

I appreciated your concern. Look I am not a mechanic, but the video just showed regular people who don't know how to fix their cars. my experiences to change transmission fluid it has never had going wrong. If I was so wrong in doing that, my car won't stay 180 thousand miles. addition, I got what you mean with the toque and the fluid to put it in there.

@@wefixit5906 my point was that just because nothing has gone wrong for you, doesn't mean someone with lesser knowledge won't mess up by not having all the information necessary to do the job. It's not about you, it's about the people who are watching.

Hi, I have a 2014 Honda accord lx. My speed meter keep go up and down while driving, I have changed the speed sensor and transmission oil, but it is still happen. Do you think that I need to change the transmission oil filter to fix the problem? My car has 70000 miles Thank you

I think your car still low mileage and this problem happened to your car. I would put scan tools to scan all the detail what going on and I don’t think you have to change transmission oil filter. Something else make the problems.

If your going to change the transmission filter, you mine as well change the engine filter and cabin filter while your at it if you haven't already. Air flow is important (cabin filter just so you breathe better lol).

You must remove the tranny pan to put the filter in. So no, there is no fluid in the tranny at the time you put the filter in. Fill it with fluid after the pan is installed.
