I like to put a thin coat of vaseline on gaskets when assembling. Place the gasket on the water pump, taking note of the teeth of the gasket going into the little grooves in the metal pump. torque to 7 ft lbs. or 84 inch pounds. the small black plastic 'box' is called the intake resonator. By the way, oil was leaking past this gasket down onto my alternator, which I have to buy from autozone $568.

3:38 minute the cover from the vacum pump is dirty with oil, was the dirt caused by the gasket you replaced?

Great video quick question tho did you install the transmission dipstick yourself?

I think the pre2013 model had a dipstick. I padi teh dealer $160 to check and service the transmission. I bought the plastic tool for $7 on ebay and pump the fluid in myself now. You can pump in as much as you want, and the fluid overflows and drains back out. that's how you know it is serviced.

Would you please tell me if you were leaking engine oil from this pump or was it brake fluid? I have a heavy leak coming from the front of my Bluetec engine which may be this pump gasket. Thank you for the excellent video!

on my car vacuum pump gasket was leaking but there is one oring on front cap of vacuum pump, that oring also could bee leaking, on this video i did not change oring , i change only gasket

Did you replace the rubber gasket under the lid or only the metal one on the pump connection?

I think it was the metal gasket that I changed, but there is rubber Oring under the front cap of the pump that also we should change at the same time, I asked the dealer for rubber Oring but it was out of stock that time, that's why I did no;t change oring, if you not sure which one is leaking, gasket and Oring we should change both

Can you get just the oring seal for outter lid if so from what dealer?

You can buy the oring but in a rebuild kit RKX has it a bit expensive but has the O-ring.
