How to change water filter if stuck & air filter on a LG Refridgerator

First time changing the water and air filter on my LG Refridgerator . Water filter stuck and won’t come out ? This is the Solution.

Wow, thanks a bunch!! After 7 years, there's still someone who managed to solve the problem after watching your video! My top shelf was narrower, so I couldn't tilt the water filter all the way down, almost 90 degrees! That was the issue preventing me from pulling it out. After removing the top shelf, it swung all the way down, and finally, I was able to take it out and replace it with a new filter!! Thank you so much! Ur a such a life saver!!

Hey MrZACATECANO100, Thank you for posting this video! I was struggling until I saw that I was not pulling on the water filter downwards enough. I was pulling towards me and it wasn't coming out. You saved me! My ice maker had stopped producing ice that I really needed to ice down my wife's shoulder after major shoulder surgery. That ice made her big pain go away. Sometimes the simple things like ice can make a world of difference if the situation needs it. Thanks!

The problem I encountered was that the lugs on the side of the new filter had to be shaved off a little to get the new filter to turn clockwise to tighten it. The old filter's lugs where mangled when I removed it initially with little effort. Note: old and new filter same manufacturer. Very strange. Anyway as far as dropping the shelf, that information was in the owners manual that I received. Imagine that. Anyway this was a good video that helped a lot of people.

Don’t understand why manufacturers design complicated things and sell them. Maybe now they state on manual shelf needs to be lowered due to lots of complaints.
