Well i want to make a habit of studying. I quite enjoy it so the reward section won't be as hard. What are difficult for me are cue and routine. Here's my plan: Cue: i will turn my phone on focus mode until i get an hour of studying done when i get back home. I will keep a set of questions out at the end of my prev study session so that I don't have to choose (i am a tora so that's even better as a challenge) Routine: finish the questions, revise the day's notes, set questions for the next day :)

Nicely done! Appreciate you for making it to the end of the video Here is my feedback: Your cue sounds like it has "studying when I get back home." So in order to make this cue more obvious, you can have your desk nicely clean and prepared (clean up after you use it the day before), so that right when you come home and see such a clean desk, it will CUE you to think about studying. Your routine should be the same set of actions every time: sit down at desk, turn phone to focus mode, follow the exact same method to pick what to study. Then when you are done revising, set questions for next day so you don't have to choose tomorrow. Also consider using our FOCUS checklist (search cajun koi Focus Mode) Reward: this is great that you enjoy learning. Hope everyone can get to this level. well done and keep it up

Love this! Andrew Huberman actually explained that rewarding yourself for something lowers the pleasure you associate with the action itself. So rewards may do you more harm than good. Internal motivation is the way to go.

Yea because the question then becomes are you doing it for the reward or for the habit itself. But you can also tap into both external and intrinsic simultaneously right

Its true, but here we are shifting from no habit to somewhat weak habit being driven by extrinsic rewards, which allows us to achieve some positive results and outcomes of performing the habit which is intrinsically rewarding, from whereon we can remove the extrinsic reward and solely rely on intrinsic.

I'm really a type of person who enjoys learning.. I had a very hard time in school 😒😂because I couldn't enjoy it and take my time to understand my favorite subjects or any other thing. Now that I'm graduated, I understand that I was like a bird in a cave.. So every time I want to study, I sit behind my desk and organize it. Then I'll put my chosen books on it and start a timer. After all my study sessions, as a prize, I study my favorite language.. I know my friends say that it's another study sessions, it's not a break or something.. But actually I don't see language learning as something like studying. I don't know how to explain 😅 I'm trying to see studying for my future like this. Gaining information and educating myself because I like to know and enjoy... Again thank you for taking your time 💛

Here's a quick overview of the formula: Start small. Don't try to change too much at once. Pick one habit you want to focus on and start there. Make it easy. Remove as many obstacles as possible from your way. For example, if you want to start exercising in the morning, put your workout clothes out the night before. Make it rewarding. Find a way to reward yourself for sticking to your habit. This could be something small, like giving yourself a sticker, or something bigger, like buying yourself a new book if you reach a certain milestone. Be consistent. The key to success is to be consistent with your new habit. Even if you can only do it for a few minutes a day, that's better than nothing.

Firstly, THANK YOU so very much for these awesome videos: they are EPIC! 😆 A small one, to help me get the gist...Habit: not pressing snooze Cue: the alarm (Placed away from bed, so I have to get out) Routine: jump out of bed, turn on light THEN turn off alarm, Start the day (e.g. wash face, make bed) Reward: Smile, a pretty bed and feeling accomplished (already: in 3mins!) And not delaying/missing what I had planned But yes, genuinely, every video I've watched is so motivating. Also loving that on these newer ones you give us a task to try and do: so we properly take lessons and not passively watching (may or may not have been guilty of this in the past 👀)

well as a Kitsune it is really hard for me to follow a plan or schedule and be consistent 🤧 ngl it is kinda stressful thinking that i didnt used my time productively but after a month or two without even looking at my books within just 2 days i scored 80+ i think i can top my class with just being a little consistent plus following a routine will heal my body too so its a win win for me, sending love from The Kingdom of Kitsune Thank you guys 😁

Habit: study atleast 4 hours everyday. Do yoga, meditation and journal. Routine: start sleeping 20:00 - 2:00 and wake up at 8:00 -10:00 Each study session will be one hour long and there will be a 25 minute break Reward: i will make nice lunch or snack

This is such an useful information, I've decided about when to start studying, where to study, what to do to motivate myself and what to study. Let's say I come from school at 4.15 and my productivity increases in the time gap from 4 to 6 pm, but I study after 6 pm which I'm gonna change to 5 pm(ig I've to push myself to get out of my bed and do this) and since I've got no study table I always sit on my bed while studying so I'm going to sit on the floor, I'll be happy even if I just finished ¼ part of my study session and I would push myself even more to finish all the work and lastly for the reward I've decided to draw at the end of the day (since drawing is something I enjoy I will study with full focus just so I could draw) Thank you for this video

Well planned habit right there! To keep you going during the study session, keep your favourite snacks (healthy preferred) or listen to good study music that will prevent you from getting drowzy. I also recommend detailing your routine and reward as much as possible. You've put your time there but also mention which subject(s) you are going to study, how many chapters you'll do, what note-taking method, which kind of drawing will I make etc.

Habit: studying for 6 hour Routine: between 9:00am to 12:00pm and 4:00pm to 8:00pm(1hr extra for breaks) Reward:listening music/making music/learning new computer courses(mostly this one i guess) I have more that one rewards cause doing one thing again and again makes it worthless after sometime. I really need to start to study with focus cause about half of half had passed and i havn't even started to 2nd chapter of any of my subjects... If dont do it i will be in a big trouble within 4 months. 😢

We have a lot of videos about focus you should check out. If I only allowed you one study for 3 hours a day instead of 6, would you still be able to get all your work done? Gotta really make the most focus out of those 3 right?

So I want myself to start my day productively. i usually don't have any problem with study, but my laptop can distract me to various things for 'hours', and then eventually to my anxiety that i am behind everybody. and when i don't start my day strong, i feel like my whole day is ruined and i have to wait for the next day to do a good start again. here's how i think i am going to do it. Cue: Putting out my books and study materials 'open' on my desk in the night before sleeping. setting my study app (where I take my lectures) on "automatically open when I sign in" also hiding all social media or entertainment apps/ website from the screen. most importantly in order for me to study i'll have to put a pair of shoes, workout cloths in front of my eyes, before sleeping. (i'll explain why) Routine: So in the morning when I wake up at 6, seeing those pair of shoes and cloths will act like a cue for me to go for a jog. usually after jogging i take a bath then i pray and after praying my mind is mostly like "okay its 7:30 in the morning, what are you gonna do?" so i open my laptop in order to find something to make the time flow, but instead my study app pop up as an cue and also seeing those books on the table will act as a cue for me to sit and study. (mostly i don't have any problem about deciding what to study.) Reward: I usually drink coffee as i am studying and i love coffee a lot with some snacks. also i feel so good after doing the work i planned to do. i get a hit of motivation from that and even if the task is little like read 10 pages of zoology book, and i completed it, i still feel happy. so this feeling of 'being on track' is a whole big reward for me. i think my reward is a lil less? maybe yes maybe not. but please guide me if you think something is off.. thanks!✨

well i want to make a habit of studying, basically when i start studying i study for over 2 hours. however the "starting" part is the hard part. my subject of study is somewhat enjoyable so my cue is to remove all distractions from my room. which i just did. hand my phone to my parents, (which i did.) and lastly actually stop watching yt videos for hrs. my routine is to use the pomodoro technique and when i'm taking a break not use yt or other social media. And do this for 3 hrs than take a 1 hour break of eating, relaxing, and reading. Btw im trying to get into duke :)

this month imma build those 5 habits 1. Guitar Cue: Right when i get to home i’ll take my guitar that lies on my bed Routine: First doing the exercices for 15-20 minutes then playing the songs im working on Reward: Record a video to see my progress and watch some covers of my favorite songs to gain motivation 2. After diner, right before starting my study session,also to warm up my brain i’ll solve at least one geometry and one paragraphe understanding test Cue: These two books will always be on my desk before i put anything else Routine: Just solve them with timer Reward: By accomplishing that little habit i’ll feel ready and focused for bigger things 3. After my study session is done instead of going to my phone ill read some book Cue, routine, reward: After preparing my bag i’ll directly brew one of my favorite relaxing teas and get some fruits/snacks and read my favorite books with some classical music (so much better than scrolling omg) 4. When im already in a relaxed mood ill just do my skincare and get in bed to 5. Journal my thoughts and do some flashcards or reading till i fall a sleep (it helps me memorise SO MUCH faster) THATS LITERALLY THE PERFECT AFTER SCHOOL ROUTINE IMMA STICK TO IT FOR ONE MONTH 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31

Huh. The funny things is I think I've been doing this subconsciously. I go to make myself tea, I do something in the kitchen while the kettle boils. Housemate goes to bed, I get up and do my set workout with music, rewarded by a nice shower and the tasty protein after. Having ADHD makes building a routine hard so what I've been doing is Sequencing, trying a desired habit into an already present and consistent cue, but I think what I've been missing is how the whole thing works and consciously utilising these steps..

*Study Habit* Cue: Sit at my desk with my headphones playing white noise on. Pour a glass of sparkling water or tea. Routine: Get study materials out (documents, websites, iPad, pencils). Open Forest app (pomodoro timer). Start the timer. Reward: Drink a fun drink while studying (I usually only drink water). Feel good about being productive. Play a quick video game afterwards, if I feel like it.

I guess that's why I've been struggling to study lately; I haven't established a consistent cue! Sitting at my desk doesn't automatically cue me to get work done since I also do things like watch KZbin and play video games at my desk. And, you're right, I don't have a cue to get me to pour the drink. I think I'll try setting a time every evening when I get home from class to tell me to pour the drink. That could be an alarm for 6pm. Thank you,@@KoiAcademy !

Sir, first of all tysm Actually I feel so much guilt at almost everything I do... like If I don't study in morning, due to guilt I'll not study rest part of the day. Not only this, When I start studying, a lot of negative thoughts come into my mind like Why did I did not studied yesterday. I am behind my classmates. I know if I will study I will unable to understand anything. All the students have worked so hard in this whole year and now I can't do anything. Oh I like this habit loop. I would define workplace and other aspects of your loop better. For example: which room? Table? Any specific items at your workplace etc. What kind of video games or games in general will you play and will it last for all of 10 mins? Well done though! 🙏🏻
