How to charge the battery in Casio Tough Solar?

This casio battery was drained to very low, as the watch was in the dark cabinet and it could not be charged with sunlight. I charged it with more powerful sun panel (Tissot T-Touch Solar)

A fully discharged battery cannot be charged properly. to revive the battery, the current requires a little more than a standard charger. then, when the watch turns on, you can charge it directly in the watch itself in the sun

To start the watch after battery change you have to short circuit between the AC contact and + of the battery👍

I have a question for u, I have the same exact watch and my watch was completely dead. Battery sign came on as empty and the watch place is charging me $65 to get my watch going again. In my video, the problem was that the watch was deprived of a light source for a long time, the battery was discharged .. your battery could have deteriorated. You can buy a battery on ebay.

CTLxxxx type of rechargeable batteries are a rare item and have a limited shelf life of may be a few months (to avoid damage and eventually destruction CTL type of batteries need to be checked for voltage being above 2.0V alternatively recharged every few/3 months). So probably your watch special kind of rechargeable battery was not on stock at that location. In my view it is nonsense to charge the battery by an external charger, but this video shows what is happening inside the watch when the solar cell charging circuit is working and has sufficient light.

try putting it in the sun first. If it doesn't charge, try charging it with a solar panel. If that doesn't work, then put in a new battery.

You won't be able to charge it, but you can revive it so that you can later charge it in the watch itself in the sun. briefly 3 volts, 1 minute. check with a multimeter if the battery has received a charge, if not, connect for a couple of minutes. as soon as the battery is slightly charged, 2.5-2.9 volts, return it to the clock. keep charging your watch in the sun. if the battery is ok, the watch will start working again and charge in the sun

you need to know how many volts are supplied from the solar panel to the battery, I don't know. I believe Panasonic CTLxxxx type of rechargeable batteries should never fall below a voltage of 2.0V. They are probably shipped ex factory with a charge of 30/50% to keep its voltage above 2.0V for many months. When the battery gets discharged during too long dark storage/without sufficient recharging below 2.0V the chemistry gets first slightly distorted (reduced life time/capacity). Then more strongly distorted the lower the voltage falls and eventually destroyed (may be when down to 1V), this means it keeps its charge for too low time to be used any more. This battery showed 1.7V after longer time of no use/charging, this means it got slightly distorted, can be recovered but may have lost 1 or 2 years of its life time.
