You could use a diamond tester 2 to check if the 'glass' has a real sapphire crystal.

The idea of moving the hands as show on the real watch is to move them out of the way for viewing the bottom LCD display when they are in the way. This is stated in the instruction manual. I have seen a fake watch like this. The other functions do not work as like on the real watch. The left side pointer on the fake does not point to the functions as like on the real watch. I would never buy a fake watch of any kind. I have seen instances in the past where someone ordered a watch, was expecting a real watch, and received a fake. They paid the high price. They got scammed! I've read about this issue happening with many of the high end type watches.
