Thanks for tuning in! You can help my channel get out of the growing stage by giving this video a like. If you’re near the southwest Wisconsin area, let’s ride together or head out on a bike camping trip. Shoot me a message on Instagram: @great_egret_adventure. instagram.com/great_egret_adventure/

Thanks Joe for such an informative video. I’ve been a roadie/triathlon rider for years but first bike was a mountain bike…and it has been years since I’ve ridden one. Now that I’m almost 40 I kinda want a bike that can do it all. Adapt to different terrains etc. Thank you for breaking this down in your videos…from geometry to riding style.

I really enjoy your videos and great info. I recently purchased the 2021 Diverge E5 Comp and happy with the bike. It is a change in geometry from my 2011 CAADX 105 but like both bikes. Looking forward to seeing your BearClaw Thundferhawk build.

Thanks, Mark! I work hard on these videos, so it means a lot to me when I get comments like yours. Those two bikes are really different in geometry. I love the variety we have in bike choices. The Thunderhawk will be a fun build and video. I can’t wait to ride it!

I think you should make a video on how to FIND a gravel bike. I've been looking for months.

Oh, man! And another on components! I feel your pain. I’ve been waiting on parts to build one of my bikes for months myself!

I hope you were able to find a bike. My LBS had a frame in my size and they did a build for me. This was toward the end of the pandemic and new bikes were very hard to find.

New subscriber. Very informative video. I started converting Cross bikes in the 1990's. I live in some mountainous country (Northern Arizona). Occasionally, I have to reach for a vertical emergency gear. I am looking to drop a few teeth on my small chain ring. Any suggestions? My rear cog is 11-34. Thanks again.

I love Northern Arizona. I lived in Flagstaff and went to school at NAU in the late 90s. Your options are limited depending on your brand and setup. It gets complicated if you want drop bars and anything above a 9sp rear mech because of compatibility. This gets so complicated that it’s better to watch this video on drivetrains: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aojUYnywfauNkJIsi=fn0w8KppyhXQqxJt That will likely answer some of your questions.

Thanks! It took me a long time to find my style. There’s always room for improvement, but I feel really good with the b roll I use now. Especially when I get great comments like yours!

Thanks for the video, very informative. I have been looking to get a gravel bike for over a year. The biggest problem is -- WHERE CAN I GET ONE FROM? ha ha, its easier to arrange a party for 100 people that get a gravel bike.

You’re welcome! I spend a lot of time working on these videos, so it makes it all worth it when I get comments about how informative or helpful they are. It’s so difficult to get any bike or component now! I’ve been trying to build. Few bikes over the last year without luck. Hopefully things will open up soon for all of us.

Hi i have a chance to buy the Soma wolverine (the same color as yours) belt drive for around 500 from a friend. Would that be worth it?
@GreatEgretAdventure
@GreatEgretAdventure 3 жыл бұрын
$500? That’s a heck of a deal! The frame alone is worth at least $400. Is it single speed or does the drivetrain have an internally geared hub?
