Please keep doing what you do. I love these videos. I have learned so much! I am a Cub Scout leader here in Ontario Canada and I will be practicing your teachings and passing them to the Cubs. They will have hours of fun practicing these ways of starting fires without matches of lighters. Thanks again

I always learn something. Lashing two pieces of branch together for the Fireboard would not have occurred to me, but it worked quite well ... as long as the drifting can be controlled. Well done AGAIN! :)

Amazing. I had no idea you could make a 2 piece board like that! I have yet to succeed in getting a fire going with friction, but you make it look achievable.

You’ve shown that part of working with fire is working with the wind. Not only do you show breath control, but often I see you demonstrate your full awareness of what the wind is doing, and you join with that. The loblolly needles nesting the ember reflected such, and responded. Just as the wind flowed into that nest, giving that ember life to flame so did your hand flow that flame to the stove. Masterful! A sign of total understanding.

Do you like a medium tooth or a fine tooth for your silky saw gamboy??
@DavidWestBgood2ppl
@DavidWestBgood2ppl 9 ай бұрын
I don't like the coarse teeth on this saw. It takes all my weight and strength to hold it steady enough to cut. It wants to GRAB... which is great for punkier woods.
@catmakinbizkitz
@catmakinbizkitz 9 ай бұрын
@@DavidWestBgood2ppl i have a coarse tooth one and it seems to do better if you actually focus on being extremely light with it, just barely let the weight of the saw rest on the wood, maybe even trying to lighten the weight of the saw pressing on the wood

We have alot of Russian Olive here in Montana, and I always find it very difficult to get an amber with it, even when mixed with other types of wood. Maybe one day you'll make a video using it, and show how its done. Lol thanks David
