Advise for Beginners: It's actually quite simple if you keep the following points in mind and weigh them up against each other. 1) Playstyle of the faction 2) Style of the Miniatures/Sculpts 3) Lore/Background Story of the Faction + Characters 4) Which factions are the most representative? (This one can be ignored if you don't care to have mirrored matches. A salute to the Nightwatch, Starks, Lannister and Targaryen Players 🙋‍♂️) Prioritize this points for what is most important/enjoyable for yourself and weigh up it with different factions if you can't choose. At the end you can also say "i start with faction X and later i go to Y" if you like more than one faction or beeing undecided. PS: The Boltons were announced as a Fanservice from CMON and will stay as a Mini Faction. This means we will get no new Units or rarely. This why the Boltons are considered as a not competitive Faction in tournaments because of their small Unit roster. Their conditions spamming mechanic (panicking) isn't even the top meta. They are still allowed to play on tournaments but it's a hard life for this players. PPS: to download the free app "War Council" for the game is highly recommended. A must have to be up to date about balance patches and rules.

Thanks for the Comment. Yeah Absolutely Agree. Well as a 40k Player, or Bolt Action player...you get accustomed to mirror matches. But Most of us in the hobby get 2 Armies so, if you play with a friend you can bring another Army and rise the flavour. And buy X and go later to Y...yeah thats true. Is it a drawback that the Boltons are a Mini Faction. Could be very freeing that they have a small, or set roster. You could bring allies or neutrals to fill in roles, where the boltons are weak, or even strengthen certain playstyle aspects of the house. I love look of the Boltons. They look BAD ASS! Yeah I heared their Panic stuff fails, while other armies get stronger in the late game. How often does CMON update Rules, or Nerf or Buff Armies? Would be Interesting to know. Surely they could buff the Boltons slightly next time around. I played alot of 40k and Bolt Action Lately. And GW is patching Units weekly...and It sows Confusion, Mistrust... and Frustration. (Although I think I is a though Job). But Warlord Games (Bolt Action) seems to listen to their Community and really go the extra Mile. Very Calmly... and cool. Is Cmon similar in that regard? Because I would love to focus my Attention and Money on IP's that are deserving of it.

@@dariostabletopminatures yes, the lack of flexibility from the Boltons can be filled with other neutrals or the "Boltons neutrals" (they can be used as faction units i think), but remember you can only take 33% of the army as neutrals. Not more 50% like once it was in the past. Patches in ASOIAF cames 2 times per year for usually. Soon it will come the 2nd for this year. I'm not sure if CMON is listening 100 % to the community. In generally I think yes, but it depends if something is makeable or not. In the case of the Boltons, that was a wish from the community to put this faction in the game (this was told to me).

At the beginning of the year it was said, that this year only NCU'S and tactic cards will be adjusted. No Units. Next year, when "ASOIAF Tactics" will be released, we can expect a lot changes, because of the new characters, that can be used in both games. For example: you could play the battle of the Trident with Robert Baratheon and Rhaegar Targaryen.

@@Cris_Shatty Sounds Amazing. What Factions do you play. If someone Picks House Bolton right now, will he/she Struggle or can a good and cunning player make it work and have fun?

@@dariostabletopminatures I started one year ago and I play Baratheons as main faction. The clou of this faction is that it's splitted. It's like you are already playing with 2 different armies or effectly 1,5 armies. It has the most units of the game. Many players focus only one side (usually Stannis bc more damage).I want to play both. But at the moment i play more Renly. He is underrated and a lot of ppl didn't understood his clever mechanics. It is said that playing Baratheon is slow and tanky. That is not true overall. It depends of the composition of the army that you use. And I am someone, who needs a big Unit Roster for changing tactics and playstyles. This why the game is so fascinating 👏 👌. Sounds that I am a try hard player but in reality I play on fun tournaments with casual players only. All have fun and it's chilled. The most of the community. Also for Bolton Players. Don't worry if you want to take them to play with friends and having a good time. But if you want to play on Tournaments to win money prizes I would take Free Folk or Nightwatch. Greyjoy also i think ...they have army lists that are the meta op standard at the moment 😅😁
