Finding a character you like can be hard sometimes, especially in a new game! This video gives a brief overview of all the characters in the game, their basic playstyle, and their strengths! There is timestamps in the video description so please use those to skip around if you wish.

@@Future_Imperfect Do the motion, then jump! The games memory allows the move to be pre-buffered, so you don't actually have to input it while you are in the air. Do the motion first, then jump and hit the button, and you will do it as low to the ground as possible.

its a fantastic game, BUT I play on PC, so I had to wait for it to be a Stadia exclusive, then a Epic Store exclusive all after they were bragging about not taking money and delivering the game for the fans. So it took a long time to get to Steam and they just kind of shot themselves in the foot.

Idk maybe its because I'm an artist but I always pick the character that is the most visually pleasing to me. The ones I would enjoy drawing. Then I MAKE them work. Since I have been playing fighters for a couple decades I dont mind not getting an easy payoff, I actually prefer to figure out ways to win with any character I think looks cool. Anyone else out there like me?

Honestly for me I used to be all about picking people based off what I think looks cool, but at this point in my life im old enough that I know what my play style in fighters are so I tend to focus on characters that reward that style.

Once it unlocks though, the special count resets again. So if you save it during Round 1 and unlock during Round 2, you have to go through the whole process again Round 3.

Not sure about the new one (he sure seems identical to classic Jubei) but Jubei in old samsho games was always the guile of the game. Poke and wait your enemy out to stuff their face full of DP, fireball if they get scared, and try to go ham if they run away. It's why in Samsho 4 at least, his "lemme chase you" super art depletes the meter even if it whiffs: so that he has only ONE shot at negating his weakness.

I can already say Yoshitora and Darli for me. First off, I like them from a style standpoint. Second, they both seem pretty well rounded, but with differing styles to cover one another. Yoshitora does everything and Darli is a general bruiser/grappler hybrid. Third, they have giant "get fucked" gimmicks to bust out for when it's time to be a jerk. Seventh Sword and "C'mon and slam, and welcome to the jam"(Hammer into punch) are both soul crushers.

New to the series (I got SamSho V Special recently in anticipation of this game and that's it), but Hanzo and Nakoruru are the two I want to play the most. I like fast and ninja-themed characters, so Hanzo being "the ninja's ninja" automatically makes him a prime choice, and Nakoruru looks super speedy and just plain adorable. Side note, I think Nakoruru and Rimururu were the only non-ninja characters in SamSho V who could wall jump like the ninjas, too, so they at least seem to be ninja inspired even if they're not technically ninja characters.

Haohmaru's WFT is insanely good for punishing, almost every mid slash on block is guaranteed punish, unless some character cancel recoil with dp, which might punish by ssp ...

I've never played samsho, but I'm planning on getting this one. This video made me want the game even more. I was thinking of using the iai character because I love that shit, but a lot of them look really cool. Jubei, Hanzo, and Galford look really fun to play, and Shiki and Ruixiang are sexy and cute respectively. Jubei seems like the kind of character I'd main since I like counter attacks.

Life of Shiki: "I'm going to command grab... It whiffed... Ok I can crossover... It got blocked.... Oh the enemy is jumping, easy anti-air, oh wait only the last part hit and did almost no damage... The enemy is using a projectile?... EASY SUPER, EASY LIFE!". A trick I learned from SonicSol from Twitter, 2HS is safe if you space it and teleport back, they can punish with dash attack but you can also beat that by instead of teleporting you go for the disarm.

Hoping this game plays like what I remember from the arcade and I hope I can remember all the stuff I knew back then. I pretty much mastered all the original characters but my main was Ukyo all the way. I would dominate in the arcades with him and people would refuse to play me using that character so I picked up Jubei and Charlotte as my secondary and tertiary characters if I was playing seriously. There was however that one guy who I would run into who was also good my rival and my mentor in this game. We had some really good battles. I remember him using Haomaru, Hanzo, Galford when he was playing seriously otherwise we'd both fuck around with the other characters against whoever played us.

You forgot to mention Genjuro has an unblockable setup with the bouncing projectile, because it needs to be blocked high, so if you do a low at the same time the projectile hits the opponent can't block at all. Depending on the knockdown you can also do this setup as an oki from a meaty fireball, too. Scary stuff. Great video!

I saw some tweet that the setup is fake, just gotta know whats up. Also I didn't "forget" to mention it, this isn't a tips guide. If it was each section would be 10-20 minutes instead of 2. There's tons of things I coulda brought up, like earthquakes instant overhead gimmick but this video isn't the place for it.

I've been a fan of Tam Tam and Kyoshiro in the time I spend with the previous entries (seems like a gravitate towards eccentric characters) but I'm also really interested in playing Darli since I'm fond of her aggresive playstyle and overall design.

Yashamaru's weapon is called a nagamaki. It's technically a sword, because that giant grip is built like a sword hilt. You can think of it sort of like a naginata with a sword grip instead of a spear shaft.
