That's so great that you actually measure the pH of the products you make. I've seen people use highly alkaline or highly acid ingredients to make diys and not even consider checking the pH at all.

💯%! Would be amazing if we could make impact and move DIY KZbin tutorials to a place where it still makes fun to do own hair remedies but much more safer. I used to not check the pH and wasn’t aware how alkaline and acid ingredients affect the hair strands. But now since I know better, I try to make people aware. ❤️

Here's part 3 of my hair wash which is a clarifying step I do once a month. I prefer using clay masks but have also started using clarifying shampoos in my hair routine since 2021 more often. I forgot to mention this but bentonite clay usually forms from weathering and aging of volcanic ash in the presence of water. Bentonite or Montmorillonite clay can be found all over the world. Other names are also Fuller's Earth in UK or Healing Clay in many countries. There are different types of bentonite clay which are named after the dominant element in them. Examples are sodium bentonite & calcium bentonite. 😉

Thank you! 🥹 This kind of preaching is normally not my kind of style, but it’s super annoying to always get this special level of nastiness & negativity from certain people who think they know it better. But they never spend even 1 hour doing proper reading and weighing things against another to see what they’re saying or what people are telling them makes sense 😅. I spend a lot of time before I upload something just to make sure I’m not spreading total false information or fear mongering. And everybody makes mistakes or reeducates her/himself from different angles. Choosing certain products or ingredients over others shouldn’t be subject to people arguing with each other because it’s a personal choice. Lol some love low cut jeans and some prefer high waisted jeans. It’s their freedom of choice. 🫣

I’m curious about trying this. I’ve heard amazing things about clay! 💖😍

Clay is just amazing! I would start with Kaolin clay since it’s very gentle and only requires water for a pH balanced mask, in case you’re acv sensitive. I wouldn’t recommend exposing your skin & hair to bentonite clay & water only like we see many do online. The pH is too basic/alkaline and needs an acidic liquid to make it skin & hair friendly. 🥰

I have never used clay masks because I'm lazy and it seemed to be a messy process. I can see the positive effect on your hair. I still think your hair clumps naturally but I guess the clay mask enhances the clumping by detoxifying your hair.

Thank you! My hair clumps with most cleansers be it natural, be it soap, be it synthetic surfactants or be it herbal powders and herbal infusion rinses, because they all have in common that my hair’s surface is clean and I don’t have hydration issues. It’s all about the product formulations and the tools we use on a regular basis. One or two ingredients can take the curl clumping balance totally away. Same as the way and what we use to brush the clumps out, which is very unique and different from other loose curl patterns. The clumped curls don’t just jump back compared to other hair textures which I’ve been mentioning for a long time now. So saying my hair ‘clumps naturally’ implies others with my hair texture don’t and something is wrong with their hair, which isn’t true. I just use products to enhance my micro curls and I’m very intentional with the way I keep those tiny clumps in place with gel casts. 🥰 If you want to see the true nature of your hair along the hydration levels, it’s always best to observe your product free hair from time to time. I’ve been on this maximum hydration journey for 8 years and more than 50% of my hair strands are clumping from roots to ends with visible springy spirals. The rest dries in coily non uniform clouds with clumped ends. Apart from from tiny patches that grew out and clumped naturally, the 40% out of the 50% mentioned didn’t used to clump at all. The curl clumping started gradually from the tips working its way up to the roots. Now the other 50% are in the early stage of natural clumping only at the tips and others are somewhere clumping from tips to the middle. Some sections have no definition at all. So my entire hair doesn’t just clump naturally. It’s a bit abstract what I’m saying but will address this in a different video for better understanding and visuals. ❤️

@@RabielleParfait Thanks for your explanation regarding your hair and its progress over time. The reason I said your hair clumps naturally is that my hair also clumps naturally from roots to tip with or without product and I am also a tight curly. My curls are looser than yours but they are s-pattern and telephone cord coils which shrink 50-60%. Brushing/combing with product also increases my curl clumpage.

@@miniminott48 Thank you for sharing! I'm sure your hair is beautiful!🥰 My hair shrinks up to 80% and that's what I used to describe as 4b zigzag and 4c tiny telephone cord coils. For me, brushing/combing with products does unfortunately nothing for me regarding curl clumping. 🥲

If I clarify I use it before or instead of shampoo. If I use clay as part as the conditioning routine, I use it after conditioning. 🥰
