You know what's funny? Some people find it disturbing to do this to unfortunate animal (Keep the bones) but... what do you think all those dinosaur bones in museums are? They are basically the same thing. Every fossil you see is literally a left over of a animal that had a tragic death with its bones collected and displayed. leo the idiot NO boiling, NO pressure washing, NO bleach. Boiling will actually hide grease and set it in, it will leach out over time attracting bugs that will eat at your skull and bleach will deteriorate the bone causing it to flake and fall apart. There is no way to stop or reverse this damage. Maceration, beetles, a bone box or an ant hill are all good ways to clean it. Degrease using dawn and hot water, it’s time consuming but a fish tank heater to keep water warm helps. Then whiten using peroxide diluted with water.

-Remove any remaining tissue or hide from the bone -Immerse the bone in a container of water. -Leave the container in a warm location where you won't mind the smell. -Periodically pour the greasy, smelly water out (gardens love it!) and replace with fresh water. -When the water runs clear, the bacteria have run their course. -Soak the bone in regular drugstore strength hydrogen peroxide until it reaches the whiteness you prefer. This also sterilizes the bone. -You're done!

Wonderful work there! I'm not such a fan of hunting for trophies so I stay away from it, but I recently found a fox skeleton in a small wooded area an I'm displaying it in loving memory of it and planting a bush where it was dug up. I'm going into the degreasing process and cleaning soon!
