Hey. Brilliant video. After having had bikes for over 20 years and always buying used, I treated myself to a brand new 2021 honda cb that came in matt black. Like yourself, I ride daily and rely on a cover when I'm at home. Your video has been really useful after looking for ages for how to keep mine clean. Subscribed 🤘

Hi Richard. Yes I’ve always had faired bikes which are much easier to clean so when it came to a naked bike with fins on the engine, loads of exposed parts and Matt paint I was in a whole new world of cleaning. Glad you found it helpful. The Matt black cab sounds awesome! Happy riding 😊👍

@@richardthomas3656 thank you. I had a semi naked bike in my cb100r but this is my first proper naked bike and with the Matt paintwork it takes a lot of care. The worst is we hen people come to admire it, their first instinct it to wipe a hand across the tank and your like Noooooooooo 😂 if you upload a video of the bike be sure to send me a link 👍

@@ToniReviews I can relate so much to that with the hand rubbing part. The day I had it arrive, family turned up and saw it. Went up and touched it all over, I was trying to remain calm but the fingerprints were everywhere haha. I will do :) also I'm probably telling you something you ready know, but I've bought an Oxford stormex cover and it's absolutely the best one I've ever used on any of my bikes. Highly recommended one.

Hi. Yes the ptfe spray is great for keeping those black engine parts looking good as well as dispelling any watermarks . So glad you found this helpful 👍

Stumbled across this and found it really useful with some good tips. Not thought of a watering can but seems so obvious. Turns out I do mostly exactly the same but I do use Vulcanet Wipes every now and then as they’re amazing. Also GT85 to spray engine and levers etc. thanks for the vid and nice bike

Thanks for sharing. I just bought my very first motorcycle, a Rusi Classic 250i. That's all I can afford for my first bike. I don't know how to ride yet, all I care for now is how to wash it properly. Thankssss

Which small moving parts would you recommend greasing?
@ToniReviews2 жыл бұрын
@@callumleakfilms small thinks like the footpeg springs, any exposed bits of cables, like on mine the clutch hanger and cable, on the bottom of the gearbox. The other concern with products like muc off is if they run down inside cable housings as they are removing any protective lubricants inside these. You can relubricate cables which is a good practice but a bit more of a bigger job.

One thing I like to do, something Stuart Fillingham talks about, is after getting the bike wet, spray a water/soap mix from a spray bottle into all of the nooks and crannies and super-dirty places. Let that sit and work for a couple minutes, then hose spray it out. Then wash as normal. I've been doing this for a few years with my T120 and it works really really well.

Thats a really cool idea. Thanks for sharing. Think I will be adding this to my cleaning routine. Thank you

Thank you for that very useful video. Your ST engine/gearbox is matt, is it okay to apply that PTFE spray on it ? Not sure what to use to give a nice shine on my ST for these parts.
@ToniReviews9 ай бұрын
Yes the ptfe spray should be fine. It brings it up nicely and also provides some protection. If you have Matt paintwork keep it away from that but the engine should be fine. 👍

Hi Tony, it's me again. I'm sorry to bother you, I just have a quick question. When is the best time to apply Muc off motorcycle protectant? Should I turn my bike on first and let it idle to completely dry the bike out, then turn it off, wait for it to cool down and then apply the Motorcycle protectant... Or after towel drying my bike, apply Motorcycle protectant, wait for it to dry and then turn the bike on to completely dry it out?. I'm sorry for this very long question.
@ToniReviews2 жыл бұрын
Hi irishpac22. That’s no problem at all I hope you find my answer helpful. So you want to wash the bike, and dry it with a micro fibre cloth to get rid of any water marks. Do not start the bike, you want the bike cold. Then spray the protectant spray on the areas to want to shine, and use a dry microfibre cloth to wipe off the excess. You will see what I mean once you spray it on, it’s just to wipe it around the areas of the bike that you want the spray on. Be careful not to get the spray near your brakes as it’s very oily and will contaminate your brake pads and discs. Hope this helps 😊👍

They are the heidenau K60 Scout. I will be reviewing these also. You have to size slightly differently on the street tywin as they dont do the reguklar size so these are REAR - 150/70/17 K60 FRONT - 110/80-18TT K60

Is muc off motorcycle protectant good for matte metal casing on engine? Ty from Michigan!!
@ToniReviews2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kenneth. I’m not sure if the casing on your bike but on my triumph (which is black) I use the protectant spray on the engine . It’s great at removing those nasty water marked etc. I don’t however use it on my paintwork which is Matt as the spray is oily and therefore leaves a shine, so I keep it away from the actual paintwork, but yes I spray it on my engine. Not having seen your bike I couldn’t comment directly, but you could always give it a try in a small discreet area and if you didn’t like it, it does wash off. Sometimes if I get a little overspray on my tank, I give it a wipe down with some soapy water and a microfibre and it’s gone. Hope this helps 👍ps great to see where you are from. I always find it so fascinating to see people from far off watching these videos. Thanks, and let me know how you get on 😊

kenneth rohde hi Kenneth. Many thanks for the kind words of support that’s very much appreciated thank you. In that case then yes the silicon spray (ptfe spray)is fine on the engine. It actually helps the engine keep its depth of colour. You’ll see what I mean when you spray it on. Be careful not to get it near your brakes ! Happy adventures 😊👌
