Thanks for explaining how to do this. I'm NOT a "handy" guy. My new girlfriend has one of these. When she finally showed it to me.....I gasped!! Rusted and dirty. I was ashamed to take into the gun store with her because it would reflect on me. She had a kit at her house and quickly had it out for me to clean🤔? Watched your video and was her hero!! Thorough. I have tended to favor grease over oil -- stays where it is put when I am cleaning - but I am far from an expert. Is there an advantage for using oil ?

In my opinion, the grease will last longer. So it would be ideal for combat or hunting use. Especially if you shoot 1000÷ rounds. It will withstand the elements better. Keep in mind, it will gather more debris. I use oil for every day carry or range training because I know I won't be excessively shooting, and will be able to clean it the same day.

QUESTION... I try sliding the slider back but will not come off and unlike on herr the silver lifts up when i slide the slider back. Why cant i get it off an why is barrel lifting up. I need to clean it but im even afraid to fire it if it wont come apart.. HELP

The front of the barrel lifts up slightly during the cycle to aid the next bullet to feed into the chamber. You can clearly see the angle of the barrel when the slide is locked back.

When removing the slide, you pull the slide back just slightly first, then both of those tabs have to be pulled down at the same time. If the gun is very dirty, it can make it very difficult to pull them down but it can be done. It will take some finger strength. While holding both tabs downward, you can let go of the slide, then let go of the tabs. If you did not pull the trigger after you removed the mag and checked the barrel, it will not release the slide when you do this process. Do it exactly how I did it in the video. Keep me updated!
