Ummm...turn your waffle iron on, spray a couple of paper towels with vinegar and place on the waffle iron and close...removes all build-up. You're Welcome✌🏾

The best part is suggesting that you don't let it get dirty to begin with. Take the time to thoroughly clean it after every use. It will take just a few minutes. Same thing with ovens, grills, smokers, etc.. Thanks for the information. Some of the comments are excellent as well.

It is worth noting that using a detergent cleaner on a waffle plate is never recommended kzbin.infoUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn though people who don't understand about kitchen hygiene won't understand that a stiff brush is all that is necessary to clean the inside of the unit. Let it cool slightly but still perform the cleaning while it's warm. I used to have a Black and Decker unit that I just loved, and was concerned when we had to replace it that I might not find one that I like just as much. This one does it for me.

Rude? I didn't feel that while watching, at all. I prefer a video like this that gets to the point and is efficient. Then again, I don't use my KZbin searches for entertainment. I'm usually looking for a helpful "how to". I'm so tired of watching over exaggerated fake cheerfulness, fussing with their hair, inserting unimportant sidebars. I would imagine the only people who would read it as rudeness, are people who rarely, if ever, clean their waffle iron after using? I don't know

And this my friends is why I would never on purpose use my waffle iron. I do, however, every two weeks as I make Chaffels for my husband, one weeks worth at a time. My least favorite task, because of the clean-up. I do run that sucker under the faucet, unplugged of course, brush it down with a bottle brush, and then let it air dry.

Fine for everyday casual clean, not good for Belgian/deep waffle makers that are heavily used for a family, leaving you with a sticky residual grease instead of just oily grease... think spray or butter instead of straight up oil. Find another video if you want to see actual cleaning vs some casual upkeep tips lol. Hers is already clean, this is more of a quick clean before you put it away in a box or cabinet! Still kind of informative though!

Yep. This is why I came online, to look for a hack to clean a Belgian waffle maker. My daughter is making them every day and it requires some cooking spray or butter. I'm destroying my sponges scrubbing between those teeth (is there a proper word for the grid nubs?).

If you use a small amount of soap, then you can typically just wipe it out with a cloth that's damp with plain water.

I agree with you. As for the persons that replied to your comment calling her sarcastic and condescending obviously just like to complain for the sake of it! It was a great video, and she covered the important safety aspect of making sure it’s unplugged, which no doubt they’d complain about if it wasn’t mentioned.

Another video here on KZbin I saw, that were a lady just uses steam to clean the waffle iron with a dish cloth. I am very nervous about using dishwashing soap! If I was to use dishwashing detergent on the waffle grids itself, it would find it hard for me to get it off. That’s why I would recommend using steam with hot water! Also I am blind and steam gets everything off! If I knew your email address, I could find this video and send it to you.

Another tip... DO NOT use any sprays with soy lecithin. It will cause a gummy residue that builds up over time even if you clean it and it's almost impossible to get off.
