Thank you for this tutorial. I tried a couple of different brand but to me the bob ross brushes are the best. I can’t wait for your new paintings, I hope you will do some ‘green mountains’ soon!

Thank you for this video! I only just started trying to do some Bob Ross projects, and I've never painted before at all so I'm learning a lot! I had a question though, can you store and re-use the Bob Ross brush conditioner? I learned you can re-use the paint thinner, but I can't find an answer on re-using the conditioner. the bottles are so small I was hoping it could be used a few times. Thank you! ☺️

Aahh!!! Thank you for this!! I’ve not been the best at cleaning them. I DO clean them but I don’t seem to get it all out. I want to get my cleaning set up like yours and I’m definitely going to get this conditioner! That’s amazing!

the technique is great as long as you take great care of the brushes the way you do its different when you have a brush that the paint has really set in

I have used this and mineral oil for brushes that sat for 3 weeks. Just had to keep soaking them but eventually got them back to being nice brushes again. There are other options that will work for brushes that are stubborn. Using a degreaser can work but it a last resort

@@paintwithbram Its best just to keep them clean but they slip through the cracks some times and you find one that has been dry for some time, I usually boil them in white vinegar but try not to beyond the exposed bristles because it does weaken the integrity of the brush but it really loosens things up to make it easy for the thinner to do its thing

Please any help would be much appreciated. ................. Thanks. P.S I have just started using a different kind of thinner it is ( Klean Strip green) Brush cleaner and oil thinner. has little to no bad chemicals in it. its a GREEN product safe for environment,

I use my thinner over and over. Just clean your thinner bucket regularly to extend how long you can use your thinner.

I use canola oil to clean my brushes and the I dip my brushes in half and half Murphy’s oil soap then rinse them off in water. So far this method is working fir me. I don’t like to use thinner at all.

It's really good to get those brushes feeling soft again. Baby oil/mineral oil also works.

I am not a big fan of using any water with these natural bristle brushes. It will eventually ruin most of them. Glad it works for you.

@@paintwithbram Yes the BR brushes are terrible now. I don't know what they changed but they were much better 10+ years ago. I used to have the same liner brush for 10 years. Had to get rid of the new BR liner in less than 2 months. And the soft blender brush completely lost its shape. Had to get rid of that one also. Before you didn't need to use "conditioner". The brushes just stayed soft and kept their shape.

@@youmarc11 I don't think they are terrible but they are different. And all the brushes I have are older weber brushes. They still need conditioning at time and it also helps to remove some of the old paint residue.

@@paintwithbram I'm going to buy one more BR liner brush. Take care of it as best I possibly can, with the conditioner. If that thing stiffens up or falls apart, my BR brush buying days are over!
