How to Clean and Maintain - SHARK DuoClean Floor Nozzles - Soft Roller Brush

This is how to take apart the brush roll / floor nozzle to access the Duo Clean soft roller in order to clean it. You can use warm water as long as you let it fully dry so as not to damage the motor with moisture.

Great vacuum cleaners!!! I had mine for 4 years and it's still going good I didn't know how to clean or where the buttons were to pull the rollers out my husband passed away not even a year ago and I am so lost without him he was the one that took care of all this stuf... You need a set of security driver bits! They have torque shaped screws with a pin in the middle because they don't want you to be able to clean them yourself

Very helpful! You show something important that Shark neglects to tell customers. The Shark Performance Lift-Away Upright Vacuum ZU700 Series Owner's Guide (2020) neither shows (in the illustration) nor tells customers (under "Cleaning the Soft Roller") that you must open the "brushroll garage" before trying to reinsert the soft roller. This is important to know if the softroll pops out and you try to put it back in.

Excellent demonstration! I have the Shark ZU700C DuoClean - I took it apart to clean it and there's a part I don't know where it goes. Looks something like a black pony tail holder. It's not a rubber washer. Do you have any idea what this is and where it goes? :)

Got the ionflex duoclean and it's an absolute nightmare to clean the roller brush and side wheels. The unit doesn't come apart. It's almost not worth it.

My rechargeable vertex duo clean power fins does not have a really button on the top. Therefore, I cannot access the large roller to remove it easily clear top window is very filthy on the inside, and I cannot clean it unless I have a way to remove other parts from the bottom, such as using the star wrench or whatever tool takes it apart, I do not know how to replace the belt is this something I would have to send in for or go to a shop? Not understanding why there isn’t easy access to the roller to remove it.

Not even 2 weeks old of owning the vacuum. I have the ion flex duo clean cordless, the roller stopped spinning and it looks like the “pin” as you called it or nut broke into pieces. I called shark for a replacement pin but they wanted to sell me a brand new floor nozzle set as it only comes with the set for 80.00. Now I searched online and went to hardware stores and found no luck. Do you have any idea what that pin/nut is called?

Just buy a full powered Henry by Numatic, and cut all this messing around out, I have sucked up concrete chippings wood dust nuts and bolts, pretty much everything your not supposed clean up with a vacuum cleaner. And all i have to to is swap the bag every now and then and carry on. No picking out dirt with your hands or breathing in dust when emptying, just Clean the house and put it away. Now my shark duo clean met a 5lb cross pean hammer an lost the argument, I used my Henry the clean up all the bits of the shark 😁
