Just did this on 2 of my cars with the powder form of Bar Keepers friend. They had never been done before, so lots of elbow grease and it did work. Thanks cuz I've never heard of that stuff before. Makes my stainless steel sink look crazy good too.

Bar Keeper's Friend is the best kept secret! I have old pipes and this product cleans the rust from the toilet bowl with just the toilet brush. The best part is it's non-abrasive so you can use it on porcelain without scratching it.

For your turbo x, try using steel wool, then a scuff pad with stove-top cleaner, then back to steel wool and it should all come right off. Finish with polish and a microfibre and they’ll look perfect. (The steel wool part is much easier if you wear some kinda mechanics gloves cause you really gotta earn it and you’ll just end up tearing through plastic gloves)

To add to that, once everything is finished, wipe a thin coating of Pam non-stick spray inside the tip and it will come off much easier next time. My dad showed me that trick when I was a kid, been doing it for years. Weird but it works really well, especially on DI cars that soot up fast.

Get the powdered Bar Keeper's Friend. I have a 2020 GTI. I just cleaned the tips for the first time. I take care of the car, moddify it, regular wash and dry, etc etc etc., but I don't mind dirty tips. It shows that it's well used in my personal opinion. It took me less than 15 minutes to gather the supplies, unroll the hose, clean my tips, clean up, and get back here to share. The look brand new. Anyhow, I love BKF. I saw the stuff being used and immediately though of BKF. Get it, use it, you're welcome. I used a standard blue kitchen sponge scrubby side.

I use Autoglym's tar remover for that. Works really well. Shouldn't be too expensive either. Cool video nonetheless, might give it a go, i think i have some oven cleaning foam spray somewhere... Should be a bit easier to apply than the tar remover.

Why would you not clean the tips initially with soap and water to get rid of the heavy soot and save the damage to your scuff pad ??
@rao-foto5 жыл бұрын
Result looks great! What you basically did was both polishing and cleaning them since those kind of products you are using often have some grit to them. But a metal-polish would probably be more suitable for the Turbo-X, although the arc didn’t need it.

Can I use this product on the body of the car, some of the residue from the exhaust got onto the back of the trunk. Long story short my car has a burble tune and was running rich and producing black smoke. So my exhaust is filthy but some of it was getting onto the back of the car. Would this work?

I feel your frustration I have 4 AMG exhaust tips to clean and they all felt like they had loads of crap rusted to it I've tried polish but I think I need fine sand paper There's an alloy colour and a chrome colour and I can't tell if the alloy colour is a deposit or the layer below I can't replace them because they're too darn expensive

i feel you! Unfortunately the TX tips aren't made anymore anyways if i did want to replace
@thomasaston41964 жыл бұрын
Try using a brush and some products that are specific for chrome or metal accessories. I used a metal polish from Mothers brand and it works very well, and if not, try buffing them. AMG uses stainless steel tips, so they're top quality, I'm sure you can make them become mirror polished again just like brand new. Car detailers also may help ya.

Do you have any idea what happens to those electric batteries once they are bad? They absolutely cannot be repurposed (the say they can be, but that is a straight nonsense) and go straight to a landfill to leach extremely toxic liquids into ground water / drinking water, but at least the air is "Cleaner" !!! On top of that petroleum products will still need to be used to grease moving parts throughout the entire vehicle. I'm fairly certain Extra Virgin Olive oil isn't going to hold up on bearings!!!
