I use super clean all the time, I dilute it down in a spray bottle for what ever I’m working on, I buy a pack of different size paint brushes from harbor freight to use when I’m cleaning an engine bay, works great, thanks Martin 👍😁
@Kolonol12 жыл бұрын
By the way at the diesel shop I work at we use WD-40 to spray down the engine bay and then go back and wipe it all down real good... Talk about a seriously clean looking engine bay... Plus It coats all the bolts and everything else and keeps it from rusting as quickly...

Thanks, seems like it works well.

Always start a project with Super Clean (use a foamer 100% Mo Betta) For iron engines Easy Off oven cleaner on a hot day works like magic.

Hope to find it here in the East Coast my jeep XJ needs a valve cover gasket and the engine is covered on the passenger side real bad with oil , old dirt caked on.
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
You may need to apply it a couple times if it's really caked on.

does the pressure from the pressure washer mess up the sensors ? Or can they withstand that amount of pressure
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I would be careful around the TPS and other sensors. I have ruined a couple of them at car washs before.

Yeah, I think I'll use the aerosol. My eyes got arthritis just watching the pump spray session.

Hey Matin, I was somehow unsuscribed from your channel. This happend with another channel I watch as well. Just wanted to give you a heads-up.
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
Yeah KZbin and their wonderful wisdom has been unsubscribing people. I don't know why so you have to check every once in a while to make sure you're still subscribed. I appreciate you resubscribing thank you.

Hey Martin, you should try Dawn Powerwash next time for a review as well. The bottles can be refilled with the regular 5X Dawn soap and water.
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the tip. I'll give that a try.

Hey Martin you might want to mention if you drive it to the car wash as apposed to your driveway make sure to let the motor cool down some, I have broke exhaust manifold bolts doing this on a warm engine. And those baby’s are 34 dollars a set for just one side. Hey man I know you are a big fan of 08 4.7 H.O. Heads but never mention the 09 Corsair is what they call it I guess. Has the dual spark plug like the hemi. I’m rebuilding one right now having a hard time finding parts any ideas?
@IDThief1232 жыл бұрын
Do you have to unplug the battery before cleaning? My battery is in my trunk though.
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
No I never do and have done this many times.
@SRR12132 жыл бұрын
Also if you're worried, just throw a plastic bag on the alternator. I usually use a garden hose without pressure but I have a professional detailer friend that does hundreds of cars a day with his crew at multiple dealerships under contract and he uses a powerwasher like in this one (with a fan attachment) and has had no issues yet.

Hey love your videos, I have a 01 Durango 4.7 4wd with 160k on it, 45rfe transmission. Last week an issue occurred every time I put the car in reverse it stumbles while pressing the gas going backwards. I feel vibration and lack of power. Only in reverse, every other gear works fine. You think my transmission is going out? Thank you and keep up the good work.
@SRR12132 жыл бұрын
Could be debris and dirt in that transmission fluid. A drain and refill will probably do you wonders. Don't rule the transmission out just yet. Dirty and worn fluid can cause those issues. Sometimes, dirty fluid obstructs hydraulic lines and causes issues like that in reverse. Update us on how it goes once you get the fluid and filter(s) changed.

How does the electrical system survive? Much of the wiring on my Jeep is exposed somewhat, missing tape/tubing, insulation peeled back a little etc. Is it necessary to waterproof everything or is it ok for everything to get wet and then let it dry off?
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
Yeah years of oil can get on the insulation can deteriorate it. I think you'll be OK to you use it on the wiring it'll probably remove any grime and prevent it from deteriorating any more than it has.
@joshuafarwell97612 жыл бұрын
Add electrical grease to the outside of the connectors. No water will ever get past the grease unless you accidentally pressure wash the grease off

Is that water hot?
@Bmanfresh2 жыл бұрын
At the car wash why was the water looking like it's hot water?
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
The water was hitting the hot exhaust manifold exhaust manifold and steaming.

I still have 2 trucks to clean HAHAHAHA but I'm pulling the motors and painting then and everything...I'm going to do this first though so it's easier to get ready to pull...
@SmudgyContent2 жыл бұрын
I do the same but only thing I do is put a plastic shopping bag of the alternator and computer
@martinbuilt2 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's a good idea if you noticed in the video I avoided the alternator.

I put a plastic bag over the fuse block as well which is right next to the anti freeze reservoir which I wanted to clean
