I have not tried your microfiber cloths, but I very much want to! However, I'm reluctant to pull the trigger because I've not had good luck with microfiber cloths for dusting, not wet or dry. I always revert to the good ol t-shirt which seems to get what the microfiber leaves behind. Am I doing it wrong?? Or is there really a difference between microfiber you can buy at Target or Walmart, and the ones you sell? Seems to me you wouldn't push them so much if they really didn't work for you. Thanks for your help! 😁 ❤️

@@sapsey72 I have some of the Makers microfiber cloths, as well as some of the less expensive ones. There is definitely a difference in the quality of the cloth. I actually went back and bought some of the waffle weave cloths just to dry my hair. I am not affiliated with Maker's or with Clean My Space, I just really love the products. Hope this helps.

Y’all, try to clean as often as possible so you don’t have so much to clean at once. The longer you wait to clean, the more dirt and mess you accumulate and the job gets tougher. If you don’t tidy and clean a little every few days but wait for weeks or months to tackle the mess-the cleaning process will take longer and you will deal with tougher buildups. I was going through a hard time and let myself go for a while, then, when I came back to my senses and started to get back on track-my goodness-I had so much shit to tidy and clean lol
@agoodnoodle3098 Жыл бұрын
how often do you recommend a deep clean? once a week?
@KitKat10281 Жыл бұрын
Ive been stuck in a deep depressive rut lately, and am finally making my way back out of it. I really let things on the deep cleaning side go, and am ready to start tackling projects one at a time. Youre absolutely right about it being much faster to clean well, more frequently, than it is to try to "deep clean" only every so often!

It's so easy to clean something already pristinely clean and new! I'd like to see you do a really yucky bathroom! That's a real how to clean video!
@isazmom4 жыл бұрын
I think the point of the video was just to show us how she teaches her professionals to do the routine & not about how clean her bathroom already is... plus everyone has different situations & different things that are in their own bathrooms.
@linhvo17904 жыл бұрын
When you clean the bathroom regularly, it would look clean and new like this. For the really yucky one, the process would be the same but you also need patience to get through it. So the difference between cleaning the clean one and yucky one actually just boils down to your mentality. Once it gets clean, try to set up the routines to take care of it regularly. Besides, the video shows you how to do the process with right tools, and right detergent, not to prove to you that she could clean the dirty bathroom, or to solve your lack of enthusiasm in cleaning bathroom. Cheers.
@Alleellaa4 жыл бұрын
That would apply to me for sure 😂 BUT seeing how easy it is to clean when you KEEP it clean... now that’s inspiring to me.
@sapsey724 жыл бұрын
I agree with @Changarookitty. I'm a kinesthetic and visual learner, and I suffer from depression, and no matter how much I'd like to think I could ever achieve a clean bathroom that *stays* clean, it just ain't happening for me. Seeing a real life demonstration of Melissa or anyone tackle a really nasty, neglected, *real life* bathroom would go a long way toward helping me find the motivation to tackle my own mess. It would make me feel less alone, lol.
@Alice_Walker4 жыл бұрын
I totally understand what you're saying. I've been depressed and my house would get so bad but even though this bathroom is super clean when the video starts I would encourage everyone to watch Melissa's videos about the 3 wave system which is a good way to not get so easily distracted and overwhelmed. I am lucky to be recovered from my depression now but having a set process to go around each room to tidy and clean is soooo helpful. Melissa has a recent video about cleaning her messy bedroom but this is a video of a lovely lady doing an awesome job cleaning her kitchen and dining area that looks more like the war zone my house turns into. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mnixc6KkpNZjjq8

This is a great video - I just have to add as a former industrial cleaner that you should always clean the toilets LAST and wear a mask or bandana over your mouth while cleaning the toilet (it takes one rookie moment of experiencing spray to the mouth to get people to do this lol). In the same way that house cleaning works top down and dry to wet, bathroom cleaning works from least gross to most gross. You'll want to dispose of your gloves and change your clothes after washing toilets (the spray even from the most cautious cleaner would surprise you) because you don't want to carry any germs or soiling from the toilet to the rest of your bathroom as you clean, so it's easiest to leave it last and then you don't have to change gloves multiple times and worry about cross-infection.
@summerbrown70583 жыл бұрын

I very much appreciate the desire for videos of cleaning dirtier spaces. HOWEVER, this stumbles upon the most important trick in cleaning anything: regular cleaning doesn’t allow the task to become huge and intimidating. I know you don’t want to clean any more often than necessary… but it’s not true. The longer we wait, the tougher and more disgusting the job becomes. I know it seems illogical to clean a shower, tub, toilet, floor and so on BEFORE it’s visibly in need, but putting it on a calendar and just doing it when it’s easier is quite rewarding, as it takes: ✅ less time ✅ less effort And it’s less stressful AND I’M NOT JUST TALKING ABOUT THE TASK! Everything looking, and actually being, cleaner all the time is life in another world. Imagine how often we come across these areas and how we feel (personally and when others are present) about clean vs dirty. It’s pride vs shame; stress vs calm.
@amywaldrep3734 жыл бұрын
When cleaning any room especially the bathroom I clean top down, back out...meaning light fixtures, tops of mirrors, front and back of doors, door handles, light switches, outlets, towel bars, shower bars, window sills, shower/tub, toilet, sinks/countertop, mirrors, cabinets, baseboards, then floor. There is a lot of items in the room that collect dust. If you only clean main surfaces, eventually the bathroom is still going to look dirty because of the build up of dust and fingerprints!

Cleaning and housework is so unpleasant and listening to something that grabs my attention is the only way I can get through it. I disinfected my bedroom today after recovering from corona. Took the time to also declutter and threw away or passed on some old things. Thanks to a podcast I managed to take my time with this to ensure everything was disinfected. Now for the bathroom. Thanks for the tips. Update: Just finished cleaning the tub, which in my case had a bad case of scum underneath the tap. I'd also given up on ever being able to get the taps to shine again. This worked marvelously. I did use a bit of scrubbing action on the scummy parts but nothing excessive. Just a gently, simply scrub did it. I hope this helps anyone who has doubts on whether this actually works on a dirty tub. Remember to leave the soap/soda mixture for 5-10 mins before scrubbing. That seems to be the main way this softens the scum.

Everyday, I'd come home from school and the 1 st thing I do, is give you my phone...don't want any distractions, then I do my homework, then all the chores for that day, which must be done to your satisfaction. Then do whatever you tell me to do with no back talk or arguing. On the weekends, I'd do want you want me to do, Before I have my "Free time"

The tip about feeling the tub for soap scum was so helpful! Now I don’t waste time cleaning the tub in areas that don’t need it. Also ensuring that the tub and tiles are wiped dry after each use or at the end of the day has eliminated the need for weekly cleans. Instead it’s more like every two weeks or so of a “deep” clean

The best solution I have found to keep this clean is to wipe it each time I clean the kitchen, that way it doesn't have a chance to accumulate. It is so much easier along with wiping out the interior of the microwave.

I also have a cleaning company! I love your videos. I find that the kitchen takes the most time to clean, especially for vacant homes where I have dishwasher, fridge, stove, oven, vent hood, inside /out of drawers,and cabinets... Etc. I've been in business since 2015 but prior to that I cleaned vacant rentals and I could do two one story homes or one -two story by myself per day. Now it seems to take me a couple of days for just one single story. After watching the wave videos I realized I do some of the same things as you, when I do a routine clean. I can pin point where I lose a lot of time, so I'm going to try your wave technique and time myself. Thank you!

I don't want to vacuum them.

I just spent a half hour scouring my bathroom the other day, granted it hadn't really been cleaned in a few months other than my husband scrubbing the toilet bowl a couple times. I struggle with physical and mental health issues and the bathroom pretty much only gets cleaned when I hit the sweet spot when I have both physical and mental energy. I spend most of my energy doing damage control and chasing after two boys, and what energy I have left I use to cook and attempt to keep the kitchen in some sort of order.

Here's how I clean my toilet: 1. I start by scrubbing out the bowl, and I use the Clorox wand and disposable scrubbers with disinfectant in them that you can just release into the trash with a click of a button... love these. SO much more sanitary than having nasty toilet brushes around, and not expensive. 2. Then I spray and wipe down the outside of the toilet with paper towel-- tank, flusher, top of the lid, top of seat, and the outside of the bowl and base, and the floor around the toilet (no men, just one woman, but I still like to do this). 3 Lastly, I do the underside of the lid, underside of the seat, and the rim, because those are the germiest parts. I make it a point to always close the lid before flushing because otherwise bacteria is being sprayed everywhere.

Love your vids. Don't know if you know this one so I thought I would comment. Just like needing to seal grout lines for up keep, fiberglass tubs need to be polished. Use a car polish on your tub after a cleaning. Wipe on, let dry, buff off. Your tub, like a car, will shine like new. Added bonus is the soap scum will not stick to the tub nearly as much keeping it cleaner longer. Do this about once every 6 months depending on how often the tub gets used. I learned about this when I bought a new tub and I read the manufacturers recommended care. It sounds like it would be difficult but after I did it the first time I realized how easy it actually was and my tub shines like new!
