How To CLEAN GQF 1502 Sportsman Incubator, How long has it been since you completely cleaned yours? Now ours is Clean and Ready for a Dry Hatch! I show you how we clean out our GQF 1502 Sportsman Incubator. It has been a while since it has been cleaned. We Vacuum and used disinfectant wipes to make it just like new! We then go and start a new dry hatch in the incubator. Cabinet Incubators are a game changer. I use to use those cheap styrofoam incubators and I had the worst hatch rates, humidity and temperature issues. We hatch chicken eggs, turkeys, guinea and quail. This is the best incubation method for our chicks. On our homestead, we now use this cabinet incubator and our hatch rates are amazing. Hey Chrissy, since you are not sure about how far along the eggs are in the hatching stage do you now have to check them everything I day just to be safe ?? I can't believe that with as much as that Brooder cost that it's made out of particle board !!! Wow Thanks for sharing. Stay happy, healthy, hydrated and safe. Thanks Margie!! It really is cheap particle board with a plastic coating? The edges are not sealed so you can see the material!! I am. Going to candle the eggs in a day or so while they are warm, I will separate them out , I will also check them daily if they are close to hatching;)

How many chickens do you have? I am starting with 50 for now; don’t know how many eggs to expect.

I have many, however they are separated by breed for hatching eggs. If your hens are young and in their first year of laying you should expect an egg every day if they are a egg layer. If they are ornamental I would expect 2 a week from those breeds ;)

To really clean the 1502 you have to take the back off (it's easy) and clean the motor area on top. Once you look you wouldn't believe how full of dust and little feathers it gets. It's a bacteria breeding ground and needs to be cleaned. Just don't hit a fan blade or you'll have to buy new ones like I did. It's a little difficult to remove the fans and they are a little expensive from GQF but seem to work better than the original and are much more heavy duty.

It’s a long story but it was on Craigslist. It was a tray, let me look and try and find some for you;) I use them as a place to put quail egg trays in, it separate out special eggs for hatching on;)

I have a 1502 GQF incubator (bought from a fellow poultry lover). I left the hatching tray inside during an incubation cycle and somehow, the bottom tray and the hatching tray became jammed together. I think I had left the hatching tray inside during previous incubations and experienced no problem(s) Guess there's always the first time for anything. NOW the egg trays won't operate, auto/manual. I guess I didn't discover the jam until too late and the turning motor/timing motor/whatever burned out. I wish I were more knowledgeable in determining what happened and the solution. I don't want to buy unnecessary replacement parts. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I put a tray in that didn’t fit and forgot to turn the turner off. It started turning and sounded am weird so I caught it in time to turn it off, but couldn’t get it unstuck!! I had to have my husband in jam it. I was lucky. I’m so sorry yours isn’t working. I would start by calling them directly and trouble shoot. They gave a really great website, maybe pull up their instruction manual. There is one for 2012-2014 and another previous one, which is that mustard color one.

If she is an avid hatcher, it is SO worth it. It is a totally different experience with a cabinet incubator. I have excellent hatch rates, and dont ever worry about anything (prob because I do the dry hatch method on chickens). I LOVE mine so so much!
