How to clean Honda Aero 750 carburetor..This Honda Shadow Aero had starting and idle issues. Cleaned Idle jet,cockpit screen and gas tank.Runs like new. Typical symptoms of dirty and clogged carburetor.Honda would not stay running unless the choke was set between half and full choke.

I just finished doing this with my bike and I ended up with the same result....only runs with choke out and turns off when I put the choke in...what a bummer...any suggestions on what it may be?

Re clean idle jet. It is clogged make sure it is clear..That is why it run on choke and dies when chokes push in.

Is the bike just running on what was left or is it still connected to the fuel tank or something? I'm new to DIY-ing motorcycle repairs. So sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

Again, great video! For my bike (same year, make, model, as this one), is it harder to clean the carb when it stalls when I pull on the throttle? I know you had idling issues. Did you use a tire pressure gage when cleaning out the parts and to check if one of those parts can hold air? Just want to check because I think I have all the tools I need to do everything. My dad is a gear head, but sadly he doesn't have the strength to fix the bike. He's going to instruct me as I'm working on my bike. I'm checking out videos just to do my homework ahead of time. Love the way that bike sounds. I absolutely cannot wait to ride it

Sounds like your Excelerator pump if your bike idles, but you're off idle stumbles your Excelerator pump diaphragm is bad rebuild and clean carb. It will be as good as new. Any questions just ask. Thank you for your Sub Jimmy Ride Safe and have a great day.

Hey Rocco, I have a lie that's not connected to anything. It's a short lien above the carburetor . Bike runs good but I'm sure it connects to something but I don't see any empty fittings. do you have a email I can send you a picture?

Hello. need help, tell me: when the gas is supplied and when the gas is discharged there is no smoothness, a jerk occurs. at idle - all is well. 750 aero.

Sounds like your excelerator pump is net working.....You can check if gas is squirted into carb. when you twist throttle. Let me know how this works out.

Hey I have a 2006 Honda shadow spirit. My problem is that is been park for like 3 years. So I clean the carburetor, the gas tank, change fuel filter but now start with the choke ON. When I try to accelerate or turn off the choke it’s turn off. What my problem it could be help me please

Happy to help, Thank you for your Sub Ed. Honda spirits have a dual carburetor set up. Your problem lies in Idle jet. Remove carburetor clean jets. This will fix your idle problem which affects the running of your spirit, Remove the carburetor from the left side as sitting on the bike. Be patient take your time. And it's very doable. I did not make this video because I got way too involved to do a Spirit carb cleaning. Any questions just ask. let us know how it works out. Ride Safe. And have a great Holiday.

I have a 2012 Honda Shadow Aero 750...I replaced the Fuel Pump and the Valve Set on the Throttle Body on the Carburetor....it still will not crank.....not getting the Fuel... What else can I do????

Happy to help. You have a pump and you have a pressure regulator I believe on your 2012 Aero 750 what work have you done? This is a fuel injected bike?

Try to find somebody local. dealership could get costly who knows what they can create. $150/200 I live in Florida that's what local guys charge. Good luck it's not really that hard...Just find the time. I hope this helps.

Did this bike idle? How did it run. If it runs and revs up and drives. Gas only sit in the float bowl. Idle and main jets..That where you need to clean. O rings are in the excelerator pump. How does she run.

I had a problem with fluid pouring into my air cleaner housing and would not start. I cleaned the carb as you suggested (main jet, slow jet) but now it won't idle without the choke and there is a strong gas odor. Please advise!

Clean carb again..Float needle leaking.... turn gas off run bike until it runs out of gas in carb...small piece of dirt by needle seat. Hope this helps. Look up,Honda float jet dirty. Let me know how this works.

I will certainly do as you suggest, but unfortunately I am unsure if the "float needle" and "needle jet" are one and the same. These type of questions come from individuals such a myself who are lacking in knowledge and experience. I looked up 'Honda float jet dirty' but only found general info relating to carb cleaning.

Hey Rocco.....if the petcock is not holding the proper vacuum and leaking fuel. Will that cause the bike not to rev up? I just got a Honda shadow running by watching your video. It wouldn't start up b4 cleaning the jets. Now it starts and idols but won't rev up it just stalls. The petcock is leaking bad. New part on the way. But will this keep it from revving up??

Yes, Lack of fuel. And check Excelerator pump. Look at front of carb, Twist throttle and gas should squirt into carb. Hope this helped. Let me know.

I would look at your Vacuum petcock. This is the same setup. Take a look and test yours. kzbin.info/www/bejne/bXfSaoRvaLR9jqs. And make sure you check vacuum line for failing hose. Let us know how this works out. Be mindful that a bad petcock diaphragm will leak fuel into your intake making very hard starting. Thank you for your Sub. Any other questions just ask.

I could get running before this but not rev much. Followed instructions now no fuel to the carb when in crack the throttle. You mentioned servicing that pump.. any chance theres a video of yours on that?

Looking for a little help with my carb reinstall. This video seemed rushed on the put together, and the blur on the disassembly didn't help me. I have posted pics of my question on www.hondashadow.net/forum/72-technical-discussion/502690-2008-shadow-spirit-750c2-carb-help.html In your video it looks like this hose may need to be hooked up, but I cant really see it. I do see a hose sticking through the little metal ring on the front of the carb after you finish and was wondering if that is the same one I'm working with. Thanks for any help.

Yes that hose goes to carb,,,Carb video 1 at 2.36 shows hose connected...Float needle leaking...Try taping float bowel with screw driver..When started....Or turn gas off run bike until it runs out of gas in carb...small piece of dirt by needle seat. Happy to help. Yes you must have an ace or a spirit the Siamese twin carburetors are difficult very hard for me to do a video. You'll have to remove the carburetors from the right side of the bike.
