How to clean Motorcycle Leather Suit

I turn mine inside out and throw it in the washer with the same soap I use for my hunting gear. It’s free of dyes, perfumes, and shit like that. Then, I hang it to dry for a few days, and condition it with chemical bros leather conditioner four or five times while it’s drying, and once after it’s completely dry. Works great, and the leather stays soft.

Thanks for all your motorcycle tips. A suggestion though, when it comes to genuine leather, cleaning your leathers every 2 years or so is best done with Saddle Soap. Any brand is good. Then nourish the leather with a good cream. Your mileage may vary.

Saddle soap is awful for leather, especially race suits. Saddle soap is very alkaline, which is extremely hard on leather, since it’s mildly acidic. Using a ph neutral soap, something like castille soap, is way better for it. I turn mine inside out, throw it in the washer with a very mild, ph balanced soap, and then dry it thoroughly over a few days, conditioning a few times a da while it’s drying. My suit is ten years old, and is as soft as brand new leather. Saddle soap is terrible for leather, despite what it’s sold for. I’ve been cleaning saddles and bridles since I was old enough to walk.
