My car sounded like a water bed. This trick made my Miata piss for 5 minutes straight!

Thanks for the tip. Those bumps are actually/also the markers for the jacking points.

Wow, your rocker panels are so clean! Got the rear repaired a few years back, but just noticed they're totally clogged already. Gonna be checking this a lot more from now on, fingers crossed it's not starting to rust that bad yet 🤞

guess this would apply to a lot of vehicles . thanks for posting

I also had the same problem yesterday, but my car (Dacia Logan) has some rubber covers that needs to be pop out. I would suggest that you use some plastic/wood tool (maybe a toot peek) to clean the holes. Metal will scratch the paint.

I bought a 1990 eunos roadster recently and found that the driver's side footwell and carpet are wet, the roof is new. Any idea of how i shud approach this problem. Thanks guys

The floor could be rusted out and water is getting in that way

Does this apply to the NC?

Just found your channel and I have subscribed! I own an 02 miata an have just checked my rocker drains. A couple were clogged and I do have a few leaves on the driver side. Do you have any tricks on getting the debris out of the bottom of the front fenders?
@MiataMan4 жыл бұрын
Thanks for subscribing 👍 I usually open up the door, so I can blast a hose directly in to the space behind the fender. This will backwash the leaves and sand out. You can also use a trombone brush or something similar to help pull the leaves out.

the front fenders will have 2 bolts holding them on at the bottom of the sill , once a year i remove my front fenders and clean it out and put waxoyl on the inside of the fender and on the drainage path down , life saving ...... rear sills are welded so your best friend is a water hose and a long pipe cleaner/ trombone cleaner , put the pipe cleaner down the drainage holes (behind seats where the seat belts retract in a corner) , clean them out and put the water hose on the roof and inspect , water should clean any loose stuff out and it should flow freely out the arch drain , if it dripps out the bottom of the sill then its blocked up and requires more cleaning or new sills .. hope this helped

My 99 nb has this issue as well as the back convertible window keeps popping out any suggestions on the window?

Is it ok if I can only unplug 1 at the front and 1 at the back or do all 4 need to be open?
@MiataMan2 ай бұрын
Yes. As long as the water is draining away. Sometimes the rail is damaged and you can only unclog some holes. You could Jack the car up and try to re-open the damaged holes with a hammer and nail (or suitable tool). Or have your local shop do it next time it’s on the hoist.

How does the water even get there if there is a hose behind the sill?

Do both of the holes in the back panels come from the one hole on each side of the soft top? Also where's the intake for the two front holes?
@sequentialed3 жыл бұрын
The intake? I think you mean where the drain starts. It’s right next to the window wipers where the water runs down.
@ZareefHuq Жыл бұрын
Is there a downside in widening the holes anyway?
@MiataMan Жыл бұрын
No downside that I can think of. As long as the work is done carefully 👍👍

Are they in the general area on the NC?
@MiataMan2 жыл бұрын
Yes. The NC has a similar drain system 👍

Could you do one on cleaning out the drains? I've managed to do the ones behind the seat belt holders that feed down to the floor - but not sure about ones at front windscreen?

Same problem on NBFL?
@MiataMan Жыл бұрын
NA and NB have the same drainage systems and the same rust problems unfortunately.
@antoineboutier88374 жыл бұрын
Hi! Maybe you could do a video on the correct procedure(s) to jack up an NA or NB?
@R0XYF0X4 жыл бұрын
And dumb me thought they indicated the factory jack points.
@adambankoff85254 жыл бұрын
they do also indicate the factory jack points. In between them on the inside of the pinch
@strawbarry4183 жыл бұрын
Nice scriber
@BorislavTch4 жыл бұрын
Good video but I think there is one big flaw in this method and it is that you might scratch the paint with the metal paper clip and definitely with the punch which will start rust from there on anyway :/
