Do you have to rescrew the roof if screws are rusted prior to coating, or is that what the patch coating over all the screws are for?

The heavier product, Liquid Flashing is used to treat all fasteners, seams penetrations, etc. before Liquid Roofing is applied. Minor rust on panels etc. is not an issue. Loose rust should be removed @ fasteners, panels, etc. If extensive rust on panels is observed, panels can be bridged with heavy gauge sheet metal and sealed in. For panels rusted through retro panels should be fitted over existing or replaced if possible. Clean rusted fasteners, seal with Liquid Flashing and apply Liquid roofing over prepared surface. (Note: if screws are rusted enough to ream out around fasteners and compromise securing panels, additional fasteners are required.)

What kind of graco sprayer are you using? Can you do it with a 490.

We use a Graco 933 Roof Rig. We have used an 833 in the past. You need at least 4500 psi to pump the silicone. We run between 4500 and 6000 psi to spray

How do you treat the seams to ensure no water is drawn into the building on the vertical seams?

We use Liquid Flashing by GE Enduris. Never use tape or mesh as it creates voids and allows water to infiltrate. Gaco Liquid Tape is a great product used the same way as well. I have a short Video on this channel demonstrating treating seams. Check it out.

Yes. They previously recommended a primer first. Now they have found straight adhesion to the concrete deck is best. I would add from an installer perspective, be careful about what is venting up against the interior of the roof. IE, manufacturing, moisture cutting machines, etc. May have negative effects from excess moisture pressure.

We had a 933 and an 833. We use 20 to 25 gallons of Virgin Mineral Spirits to clean after each job. If we spray consecutive days we leave the material sealed in the lines and just clean the wand and tips.

Just inspected last month. Looks great. The bright white does fade a little, but still qualifies for Energy Star* rating. No leaks, roof is pristine. Prep work is crucial on Silicone Liquid Roofing. The 2 coats makes a better system as well.

We have Graco 833 and Graco 933 Roof Rigs. On the 833 we use 3/4 inch hoses then reduce to the whip and wand. On the 933 we use 1" hoses and reduce to 3;4 inch whip hose. Both have Premium HD Guns, with knuckle and swivel wands. We use a Graco Monarch 5 to 1 material pump with compressor to help deliver enough material to the tip.

inexperienced roofers tend to put WAY too many screws in. one on the seam and one in the field is plenty. maybe a couple more on the ends and edges to stop wind lift.

No primer needed with GE Silicone. They have a Bleed Blocker you can use as a pre coat over asphalt to keep the asphalt color ( yellowing) to bleed through.

Depends on the warranty. 10 year = 1.5 to 2 gallons 15 year = 2 to 2.5 gallons 20 year = 2.5 to 3 gallons. These rates are for manufacturer's labor and materials warranty for Certified installers.
