Just watched your vid for the heck of it. I had tried to polish my sons e60 headlights but it had that crackle kinda finish so I knew it was done. After watching videos we replaced the lenses completely. Coat was $80. For the lenses and took roughly 4 hrs per light. Also took the time while we had them out to use liquid electrical tape to re-insulate cracked wires. We put the lights in the oven at 220 degrees for 25 minutes and slowly pried the lense off....they look new

I have restored the headlights on my 2008 BMW 535i all by myself using a 3M Headlight Restoration Kit and they came out looking better than I thought after restoring them but the thing that I forgot to do was mask off the surrounding areas of the headlights and not only that, but I also used too much of the compound and the polish so I made a little mess in the garage

What did you then coat the headlight with. Without protection they will go cloudy again in no time.

Hi there, Great video on headlight restoration. I have the same type of car which is a 2008 BMW 528i. I’m planning to get my headlights restored soon at a detail shop. My headlights are not oxidized this bad. But they’re lightly oxidized though. How long did it take for you to restore your headlights on this car?

It took me a few hours to do. Maybe up to 3 hours max but that involved stopping to film etc. Would be less if you just did it without stressing about filming haha

Are your headlights LED or Xenons? My 2008 bmw 528i are LEDs. I got them changed to LEDs from halogens a few months ago. Made a big difference in terms of brightness😀

These are Xenon lights but we did an LED swap on my cousins F30 and I agree it's a massive upgrade!

A simple polish works as well, if not better from viewing the video.

I have tried polish on the headlights and never was able to get anything near the level of results as I got with this kit

Good video bud but you just need to say what you used and what you did. You need some editing, focal points sand paper, solution used, and applications period

I've since watched another. The only thing missing in your presentation is the sealing coat to protect the finished article. Shame to leave all that hard work open to the elements?

At the time we didnt have a seal to cover it with. And still havent actually and the headlight still looks just as good. I would recommend doing a seal but it's not a necessity so far

You can take them apart and change lens I think. but you might be better off replacing the headlight with either a new or second hand one. All depends on what you want to do mate.

You should do. I didnt in the video as it didnt arrive in time. But ideally yes you should be. This was mainly focusing on the headlight clearing/repair process mate
