Thanks for this Bob 😎 Just what I needed to know, I have been using sodium bicarb & white vinegar down the plug holes before the end of each tour. It seems to help the tank empty quicker and stops any nasty niffs. But good to know to do a deeper clean every so often too 👍 Hope your both ok after todays winds xx

Good job 👍🏽👍🏽I have heard few. People mention on online platforms mentioning about cleaning sensors and issues with gauge stating full when I cleaned our fresh water tank ours was showing full but did eventually go to zero thought I was gonna have to clean ours but for now it’s all good

Hi Bob, as always a useful video ... I regularly use a dishwasher tablet dissolved in sink full of hot water as an extra measure.

Thank you, but I'm sceptical about using things like dishwasher tablets. If they work so well why do the dishwasher firms not make waste tank tablets? Or why does Fenwicks not do dishwasher fluid? Dishwasher tablets also need higher temperature to work properly. The FenwicksI bought cost around £8 and I've used it to clean the waste tank three times, there is still some left.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo Hi, you’re probably right Bob and I agree with the temperature thing, although plenty of M/homers have been using dishwasher tabs for a long time including me for the past few years. Even during the last 2 years I used them and have never suffered with any untoward smells. A good few years ago with our very first van and new to it, we had a grease buildup and it blocked the drain down pipe. A van neighbour suggested a back flush then plenty of boiling water and some dishwasher tablets and hey ho it worked. I did buy some cleaner after that to give it all a good soak and clean for good measure, but since then have always used tablets and boiling water. Out of interest I did have a look at Fenwicks and read on the safety sheet that it should not be allowed to enter the drains. I’m probably guessing that a neat solution would be be bad rather than a much diluted solution you would use for tank cleaning? ... But at the end of the day it’s just another chemical we’re using and allowing to enter the ground and drain

Not sure where else the waste water is going to go apart from the drains, I suppose they mean neat solution. I could do with poring it down the blocked drain up the road!

Great Video Bob. Many thanks. Re the waste tank sensor. We have the same issue, but have ben advised that the exposed wiring under the motorhome, feeding the waste tank have joints that are exposed to the elements. Apparently we would be better replacing the exposed joints with waterproof connectors. Will be investigating mine once it stops raining!

You never stop, want to come up North and help me. Also no glasses, I can’t read a thing without my glasses. Fortunately my distance vision is fine so I am OK for driving. Only issue is my Defender has updated itself to Apple Car Play and also to Alexa and I can’t read the instructions. Guy.

Hi Captain My sensor does the same when the tank is filled with the tap closed and then emptied quickly . Resets itself to zero when the pipe is fitted and tap is open for a while . Why ?? Who knows. Mist be a moisture thing 😂👍🏻
