Happy holidays! I really want to thank you for all that you do. This past year has been a bit weird for me, with an autism diagnosis and the consequences of a burnout that was building for many years now. I moved into an apartment, had to move back home and sublet, and now I’m finally back in my apartment. Body doubling with your videos were a really big part of my journey to get back on my feet again, and even before everything came to a head, your videos helped motivate me to take my dishes out of my room and into kitchen far more often than would have happened if I didn’t have your videos. I like a clean house. And having company over is always a good motivator to spruce up the homestead. I get picked on sometimes by friends and family. They tease me and say I have OCD or that it’s my controlling nature that has to have everything in order…sorry, what?!? Why can’t I just enjoy a clean toilet or a clutter free kitchen. Thanks for reminding me every week that cleaning is fun and they can just shut their suck holes. I worked for a National big name restoration company for nearly a decade until recently, and when I was getting my certification for water restoration, he also went into mold a bit-which makes sense since moisture and mold go hand in hand, and my instructor told us mold “eats and has sex”-meaning it breeds off the moisture and then the other spores and will overtake everything if not properly remediated. I know it sounds strange, but that was years ago that I took that class and I’ve never forgotten it, and from all my years in the industry it has proven to be true! 😊

Happy Holidays! And thank you for giving me the last push I needed to turn my studio apartment into a home. I got a lot of free stuff from a website (think craigslist). A rolling curtain (No idea what they're called) and a giant industrial lamp! I painted 1 wall, got a fake plant. New 2nd hand sofa! I have an actual living room now. I am happy when guests are over! I got a curtain to hide away my bedroom space. And with your help and encouragement I cleaned everything in here. Top to bottom, threw out old stuff, etc. (Also, the power of heartbreak~.) Merry Christmas! It's Christmas Eve. I worked a full day and then did a grab and dash through Walmart. I was irritated because I still had to come home and prepare for tomorrow. Stressed and irritated enough to cause a migraine. Got home, took migraine meds, put groceries away and threw the beginnings of tomorrow's chili in the crockpot. Then I sat down and watched this video. Thank you so much. You made it look so easy and your home is gorgeous. I can't wait to see it with the new floors. I remember cleaning duties for working at a day care. Every night we just sprayed the toilets and walls down and went from top to bottom with the mop. There was a drain since they built it as a wet room. Then squeegee the walls and towel off the thoroughly disinfected toilet. Like, hospital grade anti microbial/fungal/mildew cleaner that beats mrsa aids and weirdly, polio.

One thing I've learned from your channel Mack is how important drying is. I have 4 cats and if I'm washing the floor I hoover, but in between I sweep. Also when I wash the floors I use about 3-4 mop pads in each room, no point in cleaning a floor with a dirty mop. glad to hear my cleaning method of using dish soap for most everything validated XD i've got that and a bottle of half water half vinegar with a couple drops of rosemary essential oil cause i love the smell, and that's the only cleaning products i use. really, i find that if i just clean the toilet every time it starts looking a little funky, i never really need any cleaner. just the brush will do. that was a real cleaning revelation for me - my mom always made a big production out of cleaning and we had to do All of the cleaning tasks All At Once every friday, and i hated it. living on my own, i clean whenever i notice things are dirty. it's so much less pressure and things get cleaned so much more often. it's rare i can executive enough functions to do a whole cleaning day, but if i jump on individual things right when i notice them, they get done

towel damp with rubbing alcohol will do the same thing as the glass cloth, for those who dont have a glass cloth. dries quick and sanitizes, as Mac says, so go nuts- doorknobs, fixtures, mirrors, windows, glass tops... super quick, cheap and does the job! I get so much inspo from this channel, gotta give back when I find something out for myself. lol.

The best way to clean your house for the holidays is to assign your kids a couple of chores each and then try to accept that they won't do it as good as you would have, but it will be ok-ish. Then you can focus on the important stuff like making cookies.

Just a little tidbit: Soichiro Honda (owner/manufacturer of Honda motorcycles and cars) washes his own toilet every day. I guess it keeps him humble and reminds him that all jobs are important. You do exactly what I do for my guests. (Great minds.) It's about my guest's comfort. I do have a pet who sheds 24/7/52/365, 'cuz that's how she rolls son. So vacuuming and dust mopping are a daily thing. I asked Santa for a broom that is like Feral Tradwife's. It's an HDX from Home Depot I think. Just the right amount of fuzzy and bristle if that makes sense. Thank you for this year of excellent videos and narration. Just like Mr. Honda, you shall prevail! Gold plaque here you come! 😀
