My idea is to not take things apart once built, clean twice a year or even once a year, clean with a soft paintbrush whatever is easily accessed, take off the CPU fan but not the heatsink if anything... Don't get sucked into overclocking hype but get yourself lots of cooling, then just make sure there aren't giant dust pile buildups so there is no chance of short-circuiting. You don't want to be constantly unplugging and plugging things back in, or constantly moving and touching parts, it just increases fail rates. You also end up doing more work than the parts are worth.

water hosing a desktop unit = crazy. You're plan to use an air compressor machine is a good one. Possible concerns could be moisture and/or oil, from the machine, and esd. Might use an oil/water trap and an anti-esd pin/needle at the nozzle(diy) wired to ground. Still looking for an inexpensive unit, or even a 2nd hand one. In my experience though, even with a powerful air pressure, a thin film of dust residue is left. A good wipe down, imho, is a must. Nice vid, btw, & more power Ash. hth

The main problem I have, is having gotten a prebuilt PC, sure it’s a good PC and all, but I don’t know how to tske it apart without breaking something so I never even tried, my GPU is getting very dusty and I see the temps rising, some games even 85 degrees, it’s an RTX 2070, also, at idle temperatures it has gradually increased for my system from 30 to 40-45

The static part is the one that always confuses ,like in old cpu I used to unplug the PSU and press and hold the power button to discharge if there is any power within the board but whereas now (today's) PSU still have switched built in them and I do turn it off however the old trick of pressing the power button even after switching off doesn't work anymore ,so I'm still confusd whether I'm doing it right or not. Is it ok if we keep the cpu on a bed while doing all this disassemble , especially removing motherboard? Or should I go old school by keeping it on the ground and do the disassemble part🤔🤔

@artex_1123 жыл бұрын
Pc parts get used overtime, the lifetime of them depends on alot of factors like temperature differences, how much its used, and in what condition it is. you should clean your pc atleast once a year, also when you see that cleaning doesnt help it may be a good moment to consider buying new parts. I built my pc like 2 years ago and already after heavy using it to render 3d images CPU gets on idle from 39C to 45C. i will need to consider changing thermal paste and maybe getting better cooling.
